"Unless that kid’s secretly immortal, you’d think he would be here somewhere…."

Actually, he hadn’t seen either of his children since that day…after so much searching he’d been able to find just about everyone, except for Germaine and Allen. It was a bit distressing, to be honest. It wasn’t possible that they were both still living for this long, was it?

"W... Well, you're not too far off," he mumbles as he approaches the brunet from behind. Allen had finally gotten a chance to sneak away from Sickle, and immediately took the opportunity to visit with his relatives from his life before.

The blond smiles meekly, "... Sorry if I worried you."

"I like to ta- ah?"

A twitch of the ears. Oh, his intuition didn’t miss the irritation. The realization he was annoying the older demon immediately deflated the bubbly attitude. 

"I um.."

He droops, smiling sheepishly and not looking up now, completely missing the flustered reaction. He’s biting back the shame of badgering perhaps one of the most powerful beings ever.

"I suppose I should stop bugging you now, I mean the anon is gone so.."

"I-- hey, relax," that's probably not helping much.

The blond smiles- or at least tries. It still comes off as some sort of smirk, but it's certainly downplayed compared to usual.

"Calm down, Kai, I'm not mad. It's actually pretty nice having someone who enjoys my company..." a pause. "If you tell anyone that though they'll be your last words."

        “Well a baku is what I am, but summoning is something I do…”

       Blinks at the laughter, smiling widely. Laughing is good, for some reason he really wants to impress this demon.

        “Ahh a reincarnated soul then? That’s so cool! Ties with you must be very strong!”

Is the child sparkling?

        “You probably know lot’s of cool things I have no idea about too! I want to ask you so many things but I have no idea where to start!”

Well he tried not to start fanboying but there goes his self control.

This kid is really starting to get on his nerves, to be honest. But he also feels some sort of sympathy for the young demon, and can't bring himself to be mean. One of the few downfalls to this vessel, I guess.

The blond tilts his head. "I don't see why a demon would need to summon other demons or other things, but I suppose that's just me."

... Is Kai honestly complimenting him? And... looking up to him? This is weird. Most people praise him and are nice out of fear, but the guy before him was honestly revering him...? Weird.

"I... I don't know what to say, really," is he actually blushing a little? So much for being an intimidating representative demon of sin.

Another step back. It’s not worth keeping the mask up, but she’s just terrified to try escaping. She knows she won’t get far if she does.

"…I—I’m sorry… I—shoot…" The girl is at a loss for words.

"…I’m not gonna be able to start off on a better foot, am I?" she sighs.

Try not to panic, panic is not going to help.

But that isn’t working at all. She’s panicking, and it’s rather obvious at this point. She stares at him with wide eyes, taking another few steps back.

"So you have a brain after all! What a wise observation, dear," he chuckles. For every inch she gets away from him, he calmly approaches her once more.

The blond reaches out for her arm, holds it, and kisses the back of her hand, seemingly for no reason. "I must say, however, your attempts at being kind despite my name were quite charming. Or at least, they would be if you weren't such a bad actress." He winks. What a weird demon.

"…Yeah, I kinda know that, but… I mean, I’m used to it. Kinda." she shrugs, taking a small step back.

…Yeah… It’s not a coincidence, is it…? She can’t believe how stupid she was. Rather than run right away, she’s shifting her weight to her back toes and weighing her options.

So… I know nothing about these woods, and he clearly does. He could probably outrun me, I assume, if I ran, so I’d just have to…

How the hell am I going to do this?!

"…Y-yeah… I suppose it is… But… I never did say I was trusting anyone, did I?"

"No offense, of course," she says with a smile. Best to play it cool as long as possible.

"My, it's adorable how far into denial you are, dear," he steps closer to her again, his smile oddly serene.

"I suppose I should tell you now that I hate liars, hon. Sugarcoating your words won't do you any good~" he chuckles. He can tell she's planning to run for it. As soon as she does, he's going to attack.

"Alright, sorry." She’s getting really irritated at this point.

"And… No, I don’t really know where I am, but it’s okay, because you know what? I can handle myself. Mostly."

She’s not gonna say she’s perfectly able to defend herself, but she knows she can do decently enough. And she knows she’ll find her way.

"You can encounter rather dangerous folk around here, y'know. Demons and other monsters run amok in this forest," he explains vaguely, taking a step closer to the girl. "It's quite naive of you to be so trusting of strangers, kiddo."

His name is Lucifer, did she seriously think he as a poor human with an unfortunate name?

Well, then… She purses her lips, trying not to get angry.

"No, I don’t. I was just trying to make conversation. But if I’m wasting your time, then fine. Sorry."

"Obviously you're not trying too hard enough," he rolls his eyes. "I've got a better question- do you realize where you are, child? 'S pretty dangerous for a girl to be lost in the woods all alone."

"Did that hurt? I hope so."

She was a brat? Look in the damn mirror, jerk. At least his smelly feet were out of her face.

"Shut up," he mutters, still rubbing the side of his head. "You could stand to be a bit nicer..." he rolls his eyes.
