An instinctual reaction shot a thick hand to the wiry form’s collar, and suddenly he was slamming the angel against the wall. With the coldness of a hawk’s beady eyes, Leo stared with glare unmerciful.

”Would ye like to say that again?”

Knuckles (black from dirt or black from bruises or maybe both) clench around his red collar; a brute man's handshake. Samandriel's received a lot of those. He doesn't move.

"I think..." he begins, voice slow,"that would be counterintuitive."

I suppose it could be liberating, to take a leap of faith. To shrug off the burden of proof for the promise of hope. It takes trust to turn darkness to light. And those who trust, risk putting their faith in their own hands. For there are those who pray for you. And there are those who prey on you. And no matter how careful you are, sometimes, you just can’t tell the difference.
