Indulging in my shippy obsessions with fic... currently about Merlin... used to be about DW (Merlin/Morgana, Arthur/Gwen, Doctor/Rose)

what the FUCK kind of dragon is that

i don’t know but i’m reblogging it because i’m afraid it’s one of those “REBLOG THIS CREATURE AND GET WEALTH” memes in disguise, and if I don’t, it’s going to come to my house, steal everything of value I own, piss on the rest, and leave without even letting me pet it.

Title: All the Ashes in My Wake Author: fictionalheart Pairing: Merlin/Morgana Rating: Explicit Word Count: 3120 Warnings: Sexual Content Summary:  “He meets her in a London bar fourteen hundred years into his life. He knows every inch of the city, every piece of history that belongs to every building, and yet he’s lost. Bells clang, time passes, and he’s alone. Always alone." In which Morgana finds Merlin in a dimly-lit bar and centuries-worth of angst and lust ensue. Merlin/Morgana. Reincarnation AU. Why I loved it: I don’t think I’ve seen a reincarnation fic like this before, wow. Especially with the subject of Merlin having finally grown tired of seeing everyone throughout time without memories, and then, Merlin is beginning to lose his magic. And this story-line makes it absolutely believable! Very compelling events pulled together, and the writer has a firm balance on diction and characterization and can make centuries-old souls FEEL old but real. I’m blown away by the tone, how heart-wrenching and romantic everything is.

All the Ashes in My Wake

pairing: Merlin/Morgana rating: explicit summary: “He meets her in a London bar fourteen hundred years into his life.” Morgana finds Merlin in a dimly-lit bar and centuries worth of angst ensue. Reincarnation AU.  word count: 3.1k notes: I never thought this day would come either. But then some of us started talking about how problematic some Mergana things are and how they need consensual, angsty smut. And then sirenicsleep and I came up with an “Arsonist’s Lullaby, dimly lit bars, La Perla lookbooks” prompt, and decided I would write a fic and she would make an edit. So here we are.

When I was a man I thought it ended When I knew love's perfect ache But my peace has always depended On all the ashes in my wake

He meets her in a London bar fourteen hundred years into his life. He knows every inch of the city, every piece of history that belongs to every building, and yet he’s lost. Bells clang, time passes, and he’s alone. Always alone.

It’s been over sixty years now since he’s seen any of them alive, two hundred since Morgana, an eternity since Arthur or Gwen.

Their faces have faded over time, and as he empties the bottom of his glass, smooth, golden liquid gliding down his hoarse, miserable throat, he begins to think he’ll fail to recognize them if they ever come back.

He nearly doesn’t.

For All the Things I Couldn’t Tell You - Chap 13/?

Pairing: Merlin x Morgana Rating: M Story Summary: Five years after Morgana walks away from Merlin and everything she loves, the two are forced back together after they meet at their old university. Do they have what it takes to face their demons and move on together?  Word Count: ~ 30k and counting Chapter 13ao3 | ff.net

"Morgana? What are you doing?" Merlin asks, leaning against the doorframe between the bathroom and the only room of studio.

Morgana had asked to go to his flat after dinner, neither wanting to part ways just yet, and Merlin had readily agreed, reluctantly yet eagerly leading her back to the area near Monmouth. She'd never been to any of his flats, here or years ago, and for all the things that have changed, he was worried she would look at him differently because of it.

"They say you should always see a man's books before you start sleeping with him," she says, without looking away from the bookshelf in front of her. Every spare inch of his walls are covered in books, and based on where she's standing by his desk, he assumes she'd scanned through most of them as he'd changed for the night.

Merlin scoffs. "You know what I read."

"Yes, but I need to make sure you don't have any Hemingway or Bukowski novels hidden anywhere." She narrows her eyes in the middle of her joke. "You don't, do you?"

Merlin mocks a look of horror. "I am deeply offended that you would think such a thing of me, Morgana. Deeply offended."

"Well you never know with all the scruff you have going."

Merlin frowns, pushing away from the wall and moving to her side. "You don't like my scruff?"

Modern Morgana, Summertime Aesthetics  overcast shores, afternoons in the shadows of gothic cathedrals, blood red nails, snakeskin sandals, black lace, faded greens, and far, far, far too much coffee

for alifeinfinitelystranger who requested “modern Morgana/Merlin AU, but with a summertime aesthetic. AKA the eternal hot-weather struggle of the girl who prefers oxblood nails and emerald velvet”

Okay, so it seems the best cure for my anxiety is writing Mergana crack fic... so I’m thinking it would be fun to take a bunch of prompts and make a list to work on over the next few weeks. So what are some crack scenarios or tropes that you’d want to see play out involving Merlin and Morgana?

ficlet: Unconventional Favours

pairing: Merlin/Morgana summary: Morgana bestows Merlin with an unconventional token before he sets out on a quest. word count: 923 notes: this is based on this totallycorrectmerlinquotes post by adeyaah421... currageously and I discussed it and thought it should be a one-shot, so here we are...  ao3 I ff.net

“Morgana, why is there a dead rabbit on your table?” Gwen asks, frowning as she takes in the fluffy yet disturbing sight after entering the room with her arms full of fresh laundered gowns.

“I found it in the woods,” Morgana coyly answers, looking up from brushing her hair.

“... and so you brought it here? Do you want me to have it cooked?”

Morgana scrunches up her face. “No! Who knows how long it’s been dead!”

“I’m confused. Shall I get rid of it?”

“No!”

“Do you want to have it stuffed, then?” Gwen asks, screwing up her face into a confused frown.

“Just leave it, Gwen. I have… plans for it.”

“Okay…”

“I’m going to woo Merlin with it.”
