I like how everybody is paired off haha

I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHY THIS HAPPENS. You see this all the time when there’s a fight or a scrum and suddenly everyone pairs up with a member of the opposite team and they just sort of …hold each other.

Someone on reddit asked about it. And it turns out there’s a logical-ish reason:

all of the other players pair off with their man to prevent anyone else entering into the fight … so it’s a form of self policing.
[…] The players basically want to prevent 2 on 1, etc. fights and by finding a “hugging” partner so there’s no ganging up on one guy, even on accident. They do it because it’s fair. And it’s kind of cute sometimes.

so now we know! it’s fair…and cute.

NHL: You need to prevent other player’s from joining in the fight, make sure to hold them back

Hockey players, hugging: Got it.

Me and my gf were talking abt good castings for Sir Walter Elliot and she suggested Jack Black and I was like "Jack Black could do any Bennet. Jack Black could do ALL the Bennets" so now my ideal P+P has Jack Black as the entire Bennet family, or at least Mrs. Bennet

Further thoughts on Jack Black as Mrs. Bennet

  • He is not in drag.
  • He is wearing a dress and a bonnet.
  • He is the only one who seems unaware/does not acknowledge that the 5 Bennet sisters are obviously adopted
  • bonus points if they're cast race-blind so they're OBVIOUSLY adopted
  • It's played straight that Jack Black was a renowned beauty in his day, which is how he snared a genteel husband
  • He is the only cast member not required to do a British accent
  • He is in fact encouraged to do a bad British accent but only sometimes
  • The bonnet that Jack Black wears is possibly the most ostentatious bonnet anyone has ever seen HOWEVER
  • Each time the camera cuts away and back, Jack Black is wearing a different bonnet.
  • A significant portion of the costume budget should go towards Jack Black's various bonnets
  • Mr. Bennet can wear the same outfit for the entire film that's in character for him
  • The changing bonnet gag is absolutely key to this film

@seatidesofthesoul you are one of several people tumblr has just decided I can’t message 🥲 but you definitely need to see this lol

Every scene where Mary is implied to be playing the piano poorly is now replaced with her absolutely shredding the keys while Mrs Bennet stands swaying in the crowd with a candle held aloft.

If anyone reading this has contact with Jack Black, PLEASE send it to him. I think he's the only person that would be more into this than anyone else in this post chain.

☆ Happy Disability Awareness Month from your local little person! ☆ (they/them)

This post has gotten over 700 notes in less than two days, so I thought I'd take the time to drop some #education:

I was born with Achondroplasia - the most common of over 500 types of dwarfism. It causes not only stunted growth, but the common bowing of bones, arthritis, and hearing issues.

Dwarfs are a small minority (pun intended) and one that is majorly misrepresented through media. Whether it be through the mythical "dwarves" in Lord of the Rings or mini me in Austin Powers, the public has incredibly squed ideas of what real life dwarfs are. Historically little people were kept as slaves, pets, and public oddities, and today we still face major discrimination and objectification. And we often fall between the cracks when it comes to disabled representation.

I posted this photo set in the hopes to represent my community in a positive light, and to hold my place in the disabled community. I stand at the intersection of many minority communities - I am physically disabled, hard of hearing, nonbinary, queer, autistic. I hope this reaches people with other intersections. I love you. I see you. Happy July lovelies :)

jojo siwa is like. her style is not my taste at all but as soon as other people call it annoying im like actually you’re wrong she’s an icon and a legend

she looks like the concentrated essence of a claires store and i do not mean this negatively

it’s the “fuck you” to the current trend of encouraging teenagers to look 24 and embracing girly things that cis men hate

American Kawaii

she looks like someone turned a Skittles commercial into a person and i love it

If you don’t mind me putting my two cents:

I feel like Jojo Siwa’s style is reminiscent of the colorful teen girl fashion of the late 2000s and early 10s. Back then it was considered fashionable to use lots of colors, accessories, etc. Take a look at Jojo Siwa:

Very colorful, generous with sparkles and accessories. It’s meant to be fun!

If you were a kid in 2007-2012 you saw something similar in the clothing the teens in your sitcoms wore, although not as exaggerated. The fashion in Shake It Up(which came out in 2010) is a really good example of this:

(You may laugh, but this was the height of fashion to 13 year old me.)

The point is, Jojo’s aesthetic is similar to being a young pre teen girl walking into Limited Too for the first time.

And the reason cishet men hate it is because they don’t find it attractive. That’s why she’s often made fun of and used as a joke so much. Because that style doesn’t cater to the male gaze. It’s not for them, so it must be bad.

Might also be worth noting that she identifies as pansexual/queer/no-label and her style is very much a conversation between deliberately-not-adult and over-the-top-flamboyantly-queer.

Of course straight men hate it. it’s not about them.

“I feel sorry for you, Brekker. There is nothing sacred in your life.” There was a long pause, and then Kaz said, “You’re wrong.
