I was totally ruined with the news that Romeo’s staff account had been deleted and I had no idea how to get over it, but seeing Seunghwan as Chanwon’s guest at Ppongsoong Academy (or whatever that show is called idk) reminded me why I’m doing all this and how happy Romeo makes me! I desperately miss early times, too, and it hurts to know that we’ll never see Romeo together again, and it’s all over, but at least Yunsung has what he deserves now.

I’m all over the place now, sorry~ What are your thoughts on Hyunjong’s and Minhwi’s future? What paths will they and the rest choose? What do ya think?

While reading you message, I stumbled across your words “I’m scared”, and that’s something I’d like to discuss before answering your question. I think nowadays we all are getting more and more scared of making anyone feel offended, hurt or even uncomfortable, of receiving backlash from them that will hurt us. I believe that fear to be desctructive as it makes you change your wording, your message and eventually your thoughts in an attempt to please everyone. That fear changes you and gets you far from your true self. Please, don’t give in to it! Be polite, have your point of view and stand by it.

Now let’s move on to your question. As you asked, I will present my take and will go hard, but I’ll try to understand all sides and have no intention of offending Korean fans, Korean culture or any side in this situation.

What was Minhak’s mistake? He got close with a Japanese girl, which hurt feelings of some of Korean fans. He wrote cheeky messages to her, which hurt feelings of fans who were possessive over Minhak. The messages were provocative enough to hurt feelings of people who believed that to be indecent for an idol. Finally, subtle suspicion that the girl might be underaged was enough for the bomb to explode. Every person decided whether they belonged to any of the groups above and whether those arguments were strong enough for them to leave the fandom. I didn’t see anything bad in the situation itself, and I must say that I did way “worse” things when I was in that age and hell knows what things I wrote to people I flirted with.

Being an idol, Minhak should definitely have been more cautious, but let’s try to look at it from his perspective. For many years, instead of hanging out with friends, you go to the agency and practice till your body hurts. You’re mostly locked in a small world, and there are times when you feel lonely. Proper communication with girls isn’t possible, and in search for warmth and affection you get close with a girl from another country. Minhak is a very responsible guy, and, coming from a less wealthy household than the other members, he knew how much was at stake. Still, his loneliness pushed him into a relationship that lead to a scandal. He is partly responsible for what happened, but I think he’s got punished way more than he deserved.

Who got away in that situation is the agency, that had no guts to defend their idol and failed in educating him how to prevent such cases from happening. You can’t control your artists’ phones and personal lives, but you can explain again and again that there are idol hunters, they will be persistent, they will try to use their contact and provide perfect screenshots for a sensation. CThunus failed in preparing their idols for possible risks and in handling the situation with Minhak. It was the worst scenario possible, and now we all have lost an amazing dancer and Romeo’s vitamin.

However, let’s think why the agency decided it would better cut Minhak off than handle reputation damage. Who were they scared of? They thought fans would be so aggressive that they would destroy the group like it was with their former group Block B. We, fans, tend to be possessive over our idols, we sexualize them, we write fiction, but we dare judge them for any step we see as wrong. That’s most hypocritical of us, and we are also to blaim in this situation. What makes us think that idols mustn’t have personal life and belong to their fans? How selfish is that! As long as fans behave like that, agencies will be getting rid of problematic artists. I’m not blaiming anyone, I’m just trying to bring awareness to the reasons why we get what we get.

Anyway, Minhak is eliminated, and there’s nothing we can do about that. Fans who left the fandom aren’t going back. We all have made up our minds, and the division has happened.

In conclusion, I’d like to encourage you to write what you like and present it in the way you see it. If you have forgiven Minhak, go ahead and show it. Hyunjong and Minhwi finished their shooting for an action movie some time ago. Nothing else to report!

When Kangmin gave an interview a few months after Romeo’s debut, he was asked about his ideal type, and he answered “… a man like me?”. The members suggested he was going for a “girl”, but he repeated “a man like me” and then changed it to “a person”. I’m pretty sure you saw videos/gifs with the translation. Some people saw it as a coming out, some were sure it was a joke or a trick to heat the interest up. Speculations have been around ever since.

The most recent thing I heard of on that topic took place on the 191029 live in Tokyo. The members were asked: “What do you think of when it rains?” When it was Kangmin’s turn, he answered: “My girlfriend”. Seeing the reaction of the audience, the members hurried to explain: “He means Juliet”.

That episode is just what came to my mind, but I’m not collecting any evidence for one or another point of view as I simply do not care. I believe it’s a strictly private matter, and there’s no way I will think about it much even if Kangmin confirms or denies it. Actually, I feel these rumours should stop because they might hurt him. If he isn’t straight, they might make him feel anxious and exposed, and if he is, he may feel uncomfortable because, let’s not forget, Korean culture is generally not favourable towards the lgbt+ community.

Anyway, I don’t mean to sound offensive in any way, I just believe that a public figure may or may not support lgbt+ community openly, but whether they belong to it or not must stay a private matter unless they choose to share it with the public. Does that make sense?

Rowling’s House division, which is great in theory, ended up being roughly interpreted as The Good Guys, The Bad Guys, The Nerds and The Rest, which is not fair. Is every 4th person a malicious cowardly arrogant dork? No, people are rarely overtly villainous in real life. Reality is way more complicated!

Other houses got a low score only because Ravenclaw and Slytherin are so prominent.

Hufflepuff favours hard work, dedication, loyalty - it’s all about Romeo’s warm voice! Yunsung’s heart is gold, he is a hurricane of energy and love. I can’t imagine Yunsung hurting anyone, or letting out an unpleasant remark, he’s a precious fluffy teddy bear with 0% of Slytherin flaws. His bravery in fighting bugs accounts for a 15% Gryffindor share. Significant Ravenclaw points are given for his stunning outlook which would contend with that of Seunghwan in scope (but not in depth).

Milo (yes, it will hurt now!)

It’s hard to write about Milo, but we don’t give up on family here. I primarily assign Milo to Hufflepuff for his sense of responsibility, true care about the younger ones and hard work. His 30% Slytherin share lets him take part in pranks arranged by other members and gives him a sly foxy look. His genuine bravery and straight forward remarks are rewarded with a significant Gryffindor percentage.

Minsung

Minsung is one of the most hard-working members, who amazes the others with his determination, which scores him a 30% Hufflepuff share. I can also see a more ambitious, demanding for attention and recognition side, so I define him as 30% Slytherin. The biggest third though, descending from pixies, is responsible for his dorky side. Minsung is extra, okay? He sees future 70 years ahead, is afraid of going to the toilet alone and is widely known as Memesung.

Kyle

Romeo’s cold voice is wild af and can cut you into pieces with a dazzling smile. He knows his worth, and his ambitions grant him a solid 40% Slytherin share. His mysterious personality makes any estimations almost impossible, but I see our manly man from Daegu as 40% Gryffindor. I don’t think that even Hyunkyung can outbrave him.

Hyunkyung

Uri Hyunkyung is known for his dedication to practice and is definitely 40% Hufflepuff. He also is the only one who has the guts to stand against Seunghwan, which requires bravery, typical for Gryffindor. The evil maknae title was earned by the 20% Slytherin part of his personality. Lastly, Hyunkyung gets no Ravenclaw points for cooking sausages in cups with hot water (how is he still alive even?).

Kangmin

Our lovely maknae has a pure heart, enjoys taking photos with puppies and is at least 35% Hufflepuff. His 5% mischievous Slytherin part lets him get everything he wants from the stuff and occasionally drop things like: “Noona, you’re mine”. I can’t qulify the rest of his personality other than 60% fairy, and that’s where we land.

Omg I can imagine Jaekyung going out with someone, but Hyunjong looks too awkward and reserved lmao, and Minhwi is too dorky! As for Kangmin, I totally refuse to picture him thinking about anything but small animals and webtoons XD

Ah, I remember how shaken I was when the idea of my bias having someone special got me for the first time. It hit me suddenly and so bad I had to put my pain into a story, so I wrote it in a couple of minutes and felt better. When I got over it, I realized how selfish it was... No, I haven’t raised myself to be like that!

Now I’d love to see them dating or doing whatever makes them happy. Have you ever thought looking at them: “Gosh, I hope you take it easier then we do, I hope you don’t suffer as much”?
