it really makes me laugh to think about the ways cullen reacts to slight deviations in his plans esp in romantic interractions. trying to push his lover's hair behind their ear and accidentally poking them in the eye, or tugging at their hair, and just........ never able to live it down
anyways, i love cullen and do my best to be true to the development i’ve wanted for him even though his writers failed us and if your character ever wants to punch him right in the face i am here for you he needs the smoke

At that, the queen couldn’t help but laugh. Morrigan? Finding safety here, in Halamshiral? She’s having fun here, Lily is sure of it. Danger to the Witch of the Wilds meant much more than a temperamental empress. It was also more than an archdemon, come to think of it.
“Morrigan could not be more at home than she is here,” Ileanna glanced around at the garden. “If it were more of a bog, maybe. But her game is even more dangerous than Celene’s.” She shook her head, offering a real smile at Cullen’s idea of success. “But you and I both know that throwing soldiers at the Winter Palace would have ended up with a dead empress and a court full of demons.” And Celene was… trying for peace with Ferelden. Or at least, Alistair was. He would never let her see the end of it if Celene died this night.
“And you have to admit, the wine is good.” She’d been drinking out of her canteen long enough to miss the taste of something good. Her particular brand of ritewine was sweet but it burned like hell down and back again. “And I have missed food that doesn’t taste like mushrooms and blight.” She thought her tastebuds had been destroyed, after so much time in the deep roads. “Actually,” She admit. “Between you and me, commander Cullen, it’s pretty nice to be topside again. And please,” she added. “It’s Lily, here. Ileanna, if that’s too informal for you.” He did seem to have a rod up his ass. Maybe she can get him to laugh.
WERE THE deep roads the home of some secret hero club of sorts? all great stories seem to be intrinsically tied to them. even so, cullen counts himself lucky to know them only by second hand accounts. across the board it is a clear and unwavering truth: fuck the deep roads. it is hard to imagine her there, bubbly and beautiful and bright, squatting in some crumbling hovel beneath the earth. perhaps sharing her meal with an oversized spider.
" WHAT? ARE there no petty ballroom antics in the deeproads? too few masquerades and mixers? how terribly the darkspawn have failed at common courtesy." he makes his best attempt at adopting a humorous tone, borrowing from varric a certain inflection.
