At this point, he might as well let Damon do as Damon does whenever he comes in here because it generates a bit less attention and doesn't get him yelled at by his boss (or general shift manager, depending on the time and day) when he doesn't make a big deal about his antics.

Frankly, his tips are great, but his personality definitely needs some major work.

He's not terribly familiar with the girl. Knows her in passing from the few times she's visited at The Grill, but he was tasked with the duty of breaking the news to her. With Stefan in his current state, there was no way they'd be able to tell her, but Matt could manage. Someone needed to tell her, though.

----It's the least he could do for the guy who practically sacrificed himself along with Bonnie to save the rest of his friend's lives, after all. He draws in a sharp inhalation of breath and just sort of makes his way towards the door of hotel room. He lifts the back of his hand, poising it to knock, but he hesitates just before he taps the hard wood surface.

Why didn't anyone come with him for this? Whatever happened to moral support?

He made the mistake of thinking about his late sister last minute and now he's all kinds of worked up.

He breathes in and out before sucking in some air as he rapping at the door.

She probably already knows something's wrong.

He's horrible at keeping his composure during something like this.
