The Paris Peace Conference (which included the Treaty of Versailles, among others) was an event held in 1919 in the palace of Versailles, France. It marked the end of WWI, created the League of Nations, and had huge political repercussions for much of Europe and Asia.
In APH terms, it was also probably the most exclusive, luxuriant, see-and-be-seen shindig of the decade. Alliances and friendships were forged and broken, arguments were had, lascivious glances were exchanged, drinks were thrown in faces. (Though of course, not everyone was lucky enough to get an invitation…)
