When You Animate

When You Animate:

- Approach it with the spirit of a young child. Babies have to learn to crawl, then to take steps just to walk. Same with animating. When the child falls, he/she is eager to get back up and try again. Have the same spirit when you need to get up again to animate.

- Hold on to that vision of the scene/project. Animation is a long process, and you must keep that passion and vision strong, to see it come to pass.

- Do it because of your belief that you can. The doubters and naysayers aren’t even holding a pencil. You can move mountains and oceans, more than they can move a stroke. So don’t let their influence distract you from your goals.

- Always think ahead. Don’t just think ahead as you animate the current scene. Think for the future, so that you will never lose inspiration to animate once more.

So, I decided to design an animated version of one of my favorite fifth generation Pokémon, Petilil! Oddly enough, I think I enjoy Petilil more than Lilligant.

Unfortunately, Tumblr compresses the file size, which in turn reduces the quality of the image. I highly recommend anyone who is interested in a higher quality, animated version to check it out over on my deviantART, here!

Since making the first set, I’ve seen many comments being added about how animation meant so much to so many people. That it’s changed their life, their view on the world, and how it’s taught them valuable life lessons they couldn’t have learned from anywhere else. Don’t you see how important animation can be? How so many lessons, so many feelings and emotions can be carefully packaged into a twenty minute show? They’ll only continue to make our lives warp into something magnificent.
