20 year olds now: I have $30,000 of debt from going to college down the street, I work 30 hours a week, and also I hope I'm not dying bc I haven't seen a doctor in years (:

i feel like pandora and npr and all of these sites are competing for “most intimate show humanly possible” pandora has “whiteboard sessions,” npr has “tiny desk concerts” and there’s concerts in cafes and stores. i assume the next logical step is cramming a band into a porta-potty and having a jam sesh.

Myi googled greatest directors cause i saw a photo that included carrot top in the suggestions and i thought that was funny and i wanted to see if he’d be there (he was, but is no longer) anyway, what i actually realized was that of the 30-40 google generated suggestions one was Asian (Kurosawa), there was one woman (Kathryn Bigelow), and the rest were white dudes. I googled again to see if that was still true and now there are three Asian men (Ang Lee and Miyazaki) and a Black man was added (Spike Lee). Except Bigelow was not there anymore so yeah

Rules: In a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. Tag ten friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you have tagged them.

as they came to me

1. Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut

2. The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway

3. This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald

4. 1984 by George Orwell

5. The Quiet American by Graham Greene

6. The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood

7. The Stranger by Albert Camus

8. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

9. Watchmen by Alan Moore

10. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

most of these are sad

What color shirt are you wearing right now? I was wearing a pink one... it has vanished somehow. What is your favorite mythological creature? Pigasus If you could get any haircut you wanted (and it would definitely look amazing on you), what haircut would you get? The David Lynch. With a high fade What’s the last song you listened to? Music has been playing, but the last one I picked was "Temptation Greets You Like Your Naughty Friend" by Arctic Monkeys Favorite crack!ship(s)? yes What’s the prettiest movie you’ve ever seen? 2001 makes a good case. So does Tarkovsky's Stalker, although in a kind of dark way. If you could hug one person right now, who would it be? You know who you are. Vanilla or chocolate? Or neither? Or both? Vanilla for days What is the next movie you plan on watching? The 400 blows or Oldboy probably What’s show do you love to hate? I don't watch enough shows to hate any, let alone love to hate. Doctor Who irks me a bit, but I can't say I hate it.

1. Imagine that you’re an insanely talented musician (maybe you already are). All of your favorite bands/artists have asked you to go on tour with them as a backing musician. Who do you go with and why? 2. You're going to open a museum, and you can put anything in it. What are your exhibits? 3. If you don't push the button, it will go unpushed! Do you push it? 4. What movie that many people like do you not particularly care for, or vice versa? Why? 5. Butts?  6. You've been captured by pirates and held at a ransom equivalent to the US deficit. After three months of capture, some US Navy Seals team up with Spetsnaz and MI6 to save you. Who are the first three people you call after your release?  7. After you call those people, David Karp, founder of tumblr, texts you "If I were to change/improve anything about tumblr, what would it be?" You reply? 8. You're going on a space adventure by yourself. In order to keep yourself entertained, you bring a few albums. You only have room for five albums, and the computer on the spaceship is a massive hipster and doesn't let you bring any Greatest Hits albums. Sorry. Which do you bring? 9. Tea or coffee, or both. Or... neither?? 10. You're writing an autobiography. What's the title?
