He flash-steps them to the house and sighs softly, adjusting Red in his arms so he can open the door.

  The two are all but tackled by a shaking White when they enter the house, and he pulls Red away from Derrik, only to punch him in the chest before pulling him into a hug again. The two were practically identical, except for the shade of their hair. Red’s has a tinge of reddish pink to it, and White’s is the platinum Derrik is used to. After he’s done pushing his double around, he jumps Derrik, arms wrapping around him in the tackle.

           “You both suck.”            “Yeah, yeah, we know.” 

Derrik smiles a bit and picks up White when he jumps on him, wrapping his arms around him and spinning him around. 

“Sorry to worry you, kid.”  He sets the smaller back on the ground and pulls Red into a hug as well, keeping his arms tight around the two of them. 

Derrik doesn’t do anything more to him at this point, he just sighs and leans against the wall. 

“That’s how you see it, huh?”  He pulls out a cigarette and lights it, putting his blade away. He doesn’t need it anymore.  “I don’t think you’re a coward, I think you’re afraid. I also think you refuse to accept it. You hide your fear with a sick anger, a sick need to hurt others.” He takes a long drag of his cigarette.  “Cal does the same thing, ya know. Hiding something with sadistic killing. But you’re wrong about something, I never told you not to feel. I never told you to hide. I said this before, but when we first met you were the main personality. Anger. Blind rage. I never once told you that you were wrong to feel that way. There were times that you got angry and said things that were out of line, and yes I did get angry with you at those times. But never because you were angry.”

    Hes quiet for a long time. Seconds cave to minutes. Minutes to more, and he’s not sure how long he’s been quiet. Eventually, he speaks. Just barely above a whisper, just barely heard, because he doesn’t know what else to say, what else to do. He just wants Derrik and White.

       “Take me home, asshole.” 

Derrik puts out his cigarette and picks up the younger demon without another word. Nothing else needed to be said. He either understood or this would happen again, and Derrik is willing to wait and see what happens.

“You blame him for being pushed down, but it was you. You hid yourself from the world.” He picks him up only to throw him back on the ground.  “You were afraid. You didn’t want to be rejected so you hid. Any time he felt anger you pressed yourself back into his mind so you wouldn’t get hurt. So he became sad. Where anger should have lived, you planted sadness so you could hide. Even now, with your own body, you continue to hide. You continue to try and protect yourself from rejection.”

  He cackles, more blood coming up to his mouth as he looks up at Derrik, red eyes glowing as he pants, staring up at the other male. His body is shaking, but not from fear, or from excitement. Hes shaking from adrenaline.

       “You think so? You think I’m just a fucking coward?          You’re probably fucking right!         Every time he got angry, you reprimanded him!         You scolded him!         You got mad at him!         So yes, I hid!          Because it kept you from getting mad at him!         He hated it when you were mad!         He hated seeing you angry!         But there were things he couldn’t  help doing and things that couldn’t be stopped!”

Derrik doesn’t do anything more to him at this point, he just sighs and leans against the wall. 

“That’s how you see it, huh?”  He pulls out a cigarette and lights it, putting his blade away. He doesn’t need it anymore.  “I don’t think you’re a coward, I think you’re afraid. “You’re very good at running away, you know that?” Derrik’s words are ice and he pushes against Dave’s blade, causing the demon to slam against the wall about five feet away. He doesn’t even give the hunters the time of day, he knows they won’t get between two demons. They are smarter than that. They will wait until one of them kills the other and then come back. 

“I didn’t give you that blade so you could kill needlessly. We have rules, kid, you know that. You think this makes you look big and brave and tough? You’re just using it as an excuse to run away.”

     “Awwww, c’mon big bad. I was just having some fun.”

  He gets up from where he was slammed, spitting out what blood was in his mouth as he does. He stands, a grin on his face, but it’s so far from something happy. It’s more sadistic and angry than anything. It’s a shit eating grin, and Red raises the katana again. His words are growled, and he flashsteps, over to Derrik, ready to attack, ready to hit that sword, ready for this strife. His stance, though, is sloppy, his swings wild, just like how Dave used to fight, his anger at his peak.

       “Dave’s been so docile lately, thought you could use some excitement!”

Derrik easily blocks it, swiping his leg and causing him to fall flat on his back. His face stays stoic, blank.

   Ohh, yes. This felt good.     He smirks at the blood on his katana, red eyes glowing and tail whipping.    No one would miss that person.    He already knew.    He even went so far as to lick the blood off the blade, letting it trail down his     chin as he moved on to the next.    Just his luck, he’d run into a group of hunters.    Five of them, one of him.    Now there were three.    He crouched on one of the dead bodies, katana held in a ready position.

         “Who’s next, boys? You’ll all make delicious meals.” 

When Dave swings his blade, it never meets its target, instead colliding with metal that causes a very familiar ringing noise to fill the air.
