CAN I INTRODUCE YALL TO MY NEW COSPLAY WITH LIZOR COSPLAY: Original design wedding Hiccstrid (design by @bgsdragons -sorry for the repost of your art but I couldn't find the original post and I wanted to show the original art. If you want, I'll take it down-). Gods, I am so happy about this day (although Lizor Cosplay couldn't completely finish the cosplay, but still it's so prettyyyyy)! Here's a gif of us dancing:

Before you come at me, I wanna get something across.

When we (some fans) make super long posts about how some people didn’t understand the story of the movie or list reason for the dragons leaving, we’re not telling you to like the movie, and we’re not telling you to be okay with the dragons leaving ‘cuz we’re not sure we’re okay with it ourselves we’re just sharing the story how we saw it. You can take it or leave it. We’re just trying to clear the Light Fury and Toothless’ image. Because you’ve right. Toothless would never leave Hiccup for his girlfriend. And he didn’t.

We know reasons weren’t clear enough in the movie, but it was clear that Toothless didn’t leave for the Light Fury. I’m not gonna go down that road again because they are many factors and I’ve already discussed it here.

I understand that it’s hard. I felt that way too when we first heard of her. I remember feeling like, “how dare she make my dragon son fall in love with her and take him away?” but then I realized that blaming her for Hiccup and Toothless’ separation didn’t make sense. All I’m asking you to do is, before you hate her or the story, to think “is it really like that? Or am I just looking for someone to blame?”

I don’t want to say the fandom was underwhelmed, most/majority of fans were happy with it, just a few things they could have fixed more and I agree with them. I really liked the movie, just think they should’ve tweaked a few things up.

I agree I think certain parts of the movie felt a little “ehhh”. Not enough to ruin it but it was noticeable

The movie was... Good, but, I think I was expecting too much, or had high expectations. I'll watch it again today and see if I can organize it properly.

this is a pretty late reply (i just saw the movie last week) personally the third movie met my expectations in certain areas and exceeded them in others and surprised me with certain aspects of it. I don’t think it was spectacular but it was a great way to end the series. it did have some faults but none that took away from the experience.

I think the fandom had so much time to process what could happen they over thought about it and became underwhelmed when the film didn’t reach all their expectations.

I have a bone to pick

Look. I’ve been chewing on this for a while. I’m not looking for sympathy, but goddamn, some of you don’t get it. I’mma ‘bout to get on a damn pissy soapbox here that may hurt some feelings, so if you’d rather stay blissfully ignorant, just keep scrolling and don’t read under the cut. I’m talking pregnancy loss, maternal complications, and fandom headcanons here.

Are your last reblogges spoilers from the film? Or are they Innocent arts? I don't want to get spoiled.

Nah, my last reblogs are just a gifset of Hiccup aging throughout the movies (though it does include one of Hiccup from the httyd3 trailer) and another trailer image of httyd3 with its rotten tomato score (100% "tomatometer" and 98% "want to see" if you where curious) I'm avoiding spoilers as much as i can so you wont see anything here that wasn't shown in the first two trailers, and i also tag those with "httyd3 spoilers"

From someone who’s survived MySpace, livejournal, deviantart, and fanfiction.nets’ content purges and bad policy updates, here’s some advice on how to get through tumblr’s recent bullshit:

- don’t knee jerk delete. I know it’s tempting to peace out immediately but hang on and do the other steps first. Out right ghosting and erasing everything is how fandoms die.

- archive everything on your blog you want to keep

- tell your followers how they can archive and keep your work too. A lot of fic and art were only saved from ff.net and lj because other people saved it first. If you’re cool with other people saving your work for them to personally keep, let them know this. You can absolutely discourage reposting but I really do highly recommend you allow people to personally save fic and art they like and are worried will disappear forever. Digital Dark Ages are a real thing.

- tell people where you’re jumping ship to. Give links. Keep that info up, even if you’ve left the site.

- go through who you follow and find out where else you can follow them. Save their work if they’ll allow it. It’s tedious as hell but if you want to keep up with people on here clicking on their page to check in is the best way to do it.

- support places like ao3. This is exactly why ao3 asks for donations a few times a year. They are a 100% anti-purging, judgement free, ad free non profit run by an elected board and protected by lawyers. Places like ao3 literally save fandom so please continue to support them and other similar archives. This is exactly why ao3 is so important.
