I forget if I made a post about this already but how fucked up is it that “sense of impending doom” is a known medical symptom of some physical conditions, not just psychological ones? Most of all it’s a symptom that something is wrong with your blood. If you’ve got sepsis getting into your bloodstream or you even get a blood transfusion you’re not compatible with you can suddenly believe you are going to die or the world is going to end. The incorrect transfusion one isn’t even actually deadly but nurses are sometimes trained to recognize what it means when the patient is suddenly convinced that an unknowable, terrifying disaster is looming because it just means your brain felt something off in the bloodstream and immediately went WELP THIS IS IT THIS IS THE BIG ONE
