It’s sad to hear that Carlos Pacheco had died. He was so young. This is the drawing of his that was permanently imprinted on my brain way back when. I studied that cover and loved everything about it… the knurled Nightcrawler fingers and toes, the tremendous upshot of Colossus, the awesome position of Wolverine (while doing the Fastball Special!) with that left wrist locked and fingers glued to Piotr’s arm. Then there’s Storm, such a beautifully drawn figure while pulling off an equally difficult upshot of her face. And her hand! And that composition! I didn’t know Carlos, but I do remember speaking to him once on the phone from Bob Harras‘s office at Marvel. He had a deep voice with a heavy accent, but easy to understand.
