Pardon our dust! I’m revamping my studio space to fit my style and to bring new life and inspiration to my outdated space. I’m a sucker for texture so I took a plain, flat wall that was never properly finished and added plaster texture. Then I painted two coats of a medium gray before implementing a distressed painting technique I learned from a friend. I’ve been meaning to try it and I’m glad I did. I’m really liking the results here. We checked out of our Godzilla hotel and said goodbye to our travel companions, John McDaniel & Sydney. We had a blast hanging in Akihabara today, thanks for keeping us entertained! Electric town was frenetic like always, with high pitched voices spilling from every direction, video games, and new anime that I’m not up to date with. We took a little detour from our walk through the wild and hectic district of Harajuku to visit some cute kitties at the popular Cat Cafe MoCha. I know, why would I feel the need to visit a cat cafe when I have three cats of my own? Well, I needed the mental break! Tokyo is L O U D. Walking through crowds of people and enduring all the dizzying flash Harajuku has to offer meant visiting the cat cafe was actually a stress reliever. Also, they had cats I have never actually seen in person. I had to check it all out (by law). The Scottish Folds and Munchkin cats were amazing to see—so cute and so small! First night went well. We’re staying at the Gracery Hotel, AKA Godzilla hotel in Shinjuku. Lively area with much to do and see. We ate at this delicious Korean barbecue place, stuffing our faces with bacon. Or pork fat. Or fat bacon. Hard to know for sure, but we had bibs and that’s key.
