I just now read that fake “security notice” thing going around Facebook and noticed that it brings up the Rome Statute as a way in which violation of your privacy can be punished, which is hilarious, because A.) the Rome Statute is an international treaty that makes a nation a member of the International Criminal Court, which handles the most serious global human rights violations, and B.) the United States has never ratified it and has declared that it has no intention of becoming a party to it, meaning that it’s completely worthless when talking about the American government
