A lil confused but got the spirit

I am 27 years old, and I have written fanfiction for fifteen of those and it was only until maybe two years ago when I realized I can write whatever I want??? And it doesn't have to match canon or even make a single drop of sense?? I can write them off character too if I well so please?? Just for funsies? Because who's gonna stop me? The fandom police? People can be grouchy and angrily type till their fingers fall off that I'm wrong, and the characters are not like that, and the story is bad and still none of that will take away from my enjoyment of this mediocre 200k words fanservice crap I wrote for shits and giggles.

I'm always thankful when other people like my stories and it brightens my day to get good reviews and I'm not about to start writing fucked up offensive shit, but I'm just saying, if I want to write a 200k word fanfiction about a kids show and age them up to their 20's because I wanna see these two hot characters bang like their life depends on it, where the only thing smaller than the plot is my acknowledgment of canon personalities and questionable timeline, who's gonna stop me?

Just let people like what they like, my guy. That's why fics exist in the first place, otherwise we'd all just read the book, close it and move on with our lives.

You ever start shipping something non canon for some asinine reason, like they're both hot and have a fun dynamic? But you're not an unhinged deranged toxic fangirl so you're like "aw, I'm aware they're canonically with other people, I just enjoy some fanfic with them". So you start imagining some scenes for fun where they maybe had a little smutty fun together before they went their separate ways and parted as friends and married their canon people, so you can explain how this ship might make sense in the timeline, and then you accidentally get in too deep and you imagine them having a "if you just want this to be fun don't come cuddle and sleep in my arms cause I might catch feelings" conversation and then you imagine them DANCING and CUDDLING and PAIN and you're so far gone you stare at your non canon pairing who you thought you could treat like a lil side shipping action and is now all over your shipper heart and you just want them to get married but they won't because they're not canon and you don't know how you got into non canon hell.

Do you ever do that?

If you're a health professional/student and you haven't fucked up and then locked yourself up in the hospital's bathroom and cried for five minutes straight in sheer terror and guilt and self-disappointment that you could have killed someone and then washed your face and walked out like nothing happened then are you even a real health professional?

People of tumblr help me out. I'm in med school in Brazil and a year away from graduating. I got curious about graduations in other countries.

Our graduation parties are awesome, for one.

But I was mostly curious about a tradition we have. Every graduating class picks a teacher who they have great respect and affection for, whose name the class will carry, your "patrono" (you'll be class of 2021 Dr So and So) , also a teacher who is close to the students who will make a speech during the ceremony, the "paraninfo". And apart from that we pick teachers (in my university it's usually 10) who the class felt deserved the special recognition for being very good teachers, your "professor homenageado". Plus, in med school we also choose a resident that was particularly helpful and nice, and one member of the hospital's staff (such as a secretary, the lunch lady, the librarian) who is dear to us.

And we basically go around town kidnapping these people, putting them in a bus and ending up in a big ass party to celebrate them. Often wearing costumes. They also have a special place and are mentioned during the graduation ceremony.

And I love this. It's one of our favorite parties of med school, dancing it out and having a blast with your best teachers.
