My first authored and illustrated picture book, SUNNY, came out just over a year ago. I spent Sunny’s first birthday reflecting on how much has changed. I was lucky enough to have had a book launch party before a nation-wide lock down was needed here in Canada. I spent that day with beloved family and friends, many of whom I haven’t seen since that day. Any time shared with loved ones over this past year has been brief and distanced. But I also felt grateful - grateful for the day we spent together and for all the good moments from this past year. Somehow, good things still happened despite all the unexpected difficulties, worries and grief the pandemic has brought (yes, I am so, so very lucky to be able to say that). When I thought up Sunny, many years ago now, I had no idea it would feel quite so relevant today; the struggle to find good when so much feels out of control. It’s all too much some days but, at the very least, the bad stuff makes me appreciate the good times more than ever. Stay well, friends💛

Here it is folks, in no particular order, a round up of all the covers I illustrated for 2020 books!! 2020 might be a bucket-load of anxiety, fear and despair, but it’s a heck of a great year for middle-grade books and be sure to add these ones to your to-read list!

What a dream, honestly. Just a few years ago I was yearning to work on book covers and had a bucket list of dream clients I thought I’d never work with and here we are! I will never stop marvelling at how wonderful it is getting to read stellar novels for work. And how lovely to have had the chance to connect with some of these incredible authors!!

Each project challenged me in different ways and I’m so grateful to my incredible art directors who took a chance on me and made my illustrations shine with their impeccable insight and design skills. And an enormous thank you to my incredible agent, Andrea Morrison, for all of her hard work.

Cover reveal - my first authored and illustrated picture book, SUNNY, will be available Feb 2020.

Received the proofs for Sunny a couple weeks back. This has been in the works for some time and I’m so excited seeing how everything is progressing. I’m thrilled with how the cover has turned out. I can’t wait to share Sunny’s adventure with everyone. Stay tuned for more Sunny news!

New year, new work! Well, last’s year’s work. I had the absolute privilege of illustrating the front and back cover of Dan Gemeinhart’s THE REMARKABLE JOURNEY OF COYOTE SUNRISE. It’s a beautiful book filled with strong, complex and diverse characters and I was hooked from page one.
