If you ever get bored at night just think about him running into her unexpectedly on a fine day while on duty. Think about them casually checking each other out in a totally innocent manner. Think about him instinctively protecting her when she’s in trouble and can’t find a way to defend herself. Think about long nights at the station with him. Think about her seeking out his help, him teaching her to fight. Think about him offering her a ride to make sure she got home safe.
Think about her opening up to him when she needs to talk and doesn’t know who else to vent to. Think about her seeing his eyes glow for the first time when she was trying to help him trigger his inner hellhound, his supernatural state. Think about him being the one she reaches out to when she needs help. Think about her insisting to bring him coffee at midnight despite having to be to school the next day. Think about him not degrading her or treating her like an object. Think about the way she lights up when she looks up at him. Think about his smile matching the one she never gives to anybody, not like that.
Think about him giving her that confirmation that he enjoys spending time with her. Think about her not being afraid of him when he’s terrified of himself and the possibility of him hurting someone. Think about him prioritizing her, dropping everything just to go look for her when the town was going through all sorts of chaos.
Think about him being afraid when he found her unresponsive and didn’t know how to help. Think about how angry he was when he broke through the walls. Think about him carrying her body just trying to get her to a safe place. TWICE. Think about him letting it be known to everybody that he will do what it takes for HER. Oh yeah, and don’t forget to think about her refusing to leave his side when he locked himself up in an isolated cell away from his colleagues
and the way she touched her hand to his.
Think about her pleading to get the man she’s come to adore back. Think about her lunging in to catch him when he fell weak from the attack and the effects of the machine he’d been trapped inside, and now think about the way she leaned her head in closer to him while she was holding him up relieved that he was SAFE even if only just for a moment.
Think about them realizing they genuinely need each other, that it’s not just one-sided but mutual because they’re in it together, that no matter what happens they will have each other’s best interests at heart Now think about this… Marrish has come so far in only like a year, roughly? Marrish has been through so much together in such a short time. Marrish is a safe place to land and I’m giving myself feels so…
