“Can’t we just have a laid back night? It’s still a while until the next full moon.”
Pax sighed, finishing off the last few bites of his burger before crumbling up the makeshift trash bag he had made of the thin takeout bag. He tossed it at the garbage can, it bouncing in effortlessly. A night pretending they were just two friends on a cross country road trip was better than talking about who they really were tonight…. and definitely better than talking about strategies to control his wolf. They were going to be in this town for at least another week, since they had realized werewolf activity had happened around the full moon last month. A night trying to find something decent on TV wouldn’t hurt anyone.
Pursing her lips, Saska leaned forward in her seat, considering his words for a moment before speaking. “I wish you didn’t hate your wolf so much,” her voice was almost tired, “It’s a part of you. And learning to accept it will make the change that much easier in the long run. You know that...” But really, this wasn’t anything that she hadn’t repeated to him numerous times before, and it most certainly wouldn’t be the last.
“But if you want to just hang out tonight, that’s what we’ll do! On one condition!” she offered the older man a bright smile, one hand running through her dark locks as she gazed over towards the television. “You’ve got a way better view of the TV from your bed, so you’re gonna have to deal with sharing it for a bit, deal?”
The petite she-wolf didn’t bother waiting for an answer from her friend, and instead, proceeded to make her way over to his bed and make herself right at home. “I promise I won’t take up too much room.”
“Honest.”
