This Blog Is Moving~!

//Slowly but surely, I’m going to be situating myself over  h e r e  with all of my Inuyasha muses.

One by one, I will add ‘archive’ to each of my urls because I can’t let go of the memories each of them have. (Unless I JUST made the blog a few months ago ») Then I’m going to replace the theme with a redirect link.

Any existing active threads can be moved over there if my partners want to continue.

This message will be queued for a week and spread out between each of my blogs.

haha Modern!AU what have I done to myself

Where Kagome stumbles into an alleyway and finds an unconscious half-demon, who wakes up and accuses her of being his ex who (he claims) tricked him, stole a magic jewel, then knocked him out cold. She finds the jewel in her pocket and doesn’t know how she got it. After accidentally shattering the jewel, peices scatter all over Tokyo, and she is forced to join her dog-eared half-demon to find the fragments and discover who really attacked InuYasha, and what happened to his missing ex.

All the while, they team-up with a demon-hunter who’s out to avenge her slaughtered family, a shady monk with a cursed hand, and an orphan fox demon.

I’m not good at writing fanfics, but I’d love to see this be a thing, where everything’s the same, except all modern-like (and instead of InuYasha having an inherited sword, he get’s a sturdy baseball bat that his dad left behind before he died).

He noticed her eyes were on him not long after they left the cafeteria and feeling self conscious again, instead of snapping at her like he did that morning, he merely fidgeted slightly this time. But then his unease was forgotten when she answered his question which he nodded to in response.

He caught on now that she had only been joking about him saving her from her friends. But maybe not completely, he personally would have wanted to get out of there if he was in her situation and as he thought before, he was sure their intentions were in the right place, but it would be embarrassing for anyone. How would they feel if it was turned back around on them? Say, that was an idea, he noticed that the other three girls didn’t have anyone sitting with them and he didn’t catch a male’s scent on any of them either aside from the expected scent from their classmates that was barely there. If they had boyfriends then the scent would be stronger, a prolonged smell from repeated contact. Perhaps he could Kagome in convincing her to put it back on them.

Added movement from the girl walking beside him pulled his attention back to her and watched as she pulled a strand of blue-black hair and tucked it behind her ear. He couldn’t believe he hadn’t noticed before, but the girl was actually quite beautiful. Mid-back black hair that looked soft to the touch and had a healthy shine to it. Soulful and kind brown eyes that he could see a hidden fire in. Soft skin and an angel’s face, slim, but not unhealthily so and the average height. Plus her voice was kind and soft, but he was sure she had the ability to growl when angry. How had he not noticed before now? Oh, right because he was too busy being a cautious asshole before. Oh shit, he was staring!

He blinked when noticing what he was doing, and seeing her eyes on him again felt his cheeks tint in embarrassment and turned his head the opposite direction to hide it, but not before he caught the sight of her white teeth worrying her bottom lip, but he looked back again when he heard her ask if he was being picked on. Thankfully by that time, his blush had already cooled again.

"Just what’s expected, nothin’ too bad. Y’know, slammed into lockers, name callin’ the usual," he replied with a nonchalant shrug. The genuine concern on her features wasn’t lost on him and he found himself again marveling at it. This girl, she wasn’t like the others. But was that really so hard to believe? His mother was a beautiful person inside and out and if there was one, there had to be others. It was just that hate seemed to be most dominant in the world.

He was thinking along those lines when her request pulled him free of his musings, surprising him enough to blink owlishly at her. Though, should he really be surprised? She had been friendly that morning and came along with him regardless of how he treated her before and quite obviously accepted him half breed and all.. But.. They shouldn’t be… He would like to have her as a friend…but.. Well he’d let her decide for herself.. But not going in blind.

"I don’t think that’s a good idea Kagome… Personally, I’d like to, but if yer a known friend ta a half breed like me then haters’ll target you too. The bullying’ll start an’ trust me it gets pretty bad.."

She couldn't say she didn't expect it, though she hated the thought of Inuyasha being pushed around like he was worthless. All lives held value; Kagome wished everyone could understand that. Her brows lowered slightly in thought- the usual, that had caused a pang within her heart. The poor guy... Perhaps she could pay a visit to the office for him, knowing that male pride would stop him from doing so, himself. It would help if she knew who was already bullying him.

Filing the idea away for later, she raised a thin brow at him as he tried arguing on why she shouldn't befriend him. While a small part of her was touched that he wanted to protect her, the rest of her thought that the idea was ludicrous. Half of their class knew her and knew that she wouldn't be subdued over something she found wrong. A few jerks wouldn't put her off from doing as she pleased.

Her hands situated themselves on her hips as she assessed him. He wasn't a jerk- rough, maybe, and his attitude could be polished up, but that was that. "Well, I want to be- and you'd like me to be- so I will," she grinned. Nothing else mattered. "That wasn't so hard, ne?" And she would stand up for him if the student body decided to paint targets on their back.

It wouldn't be bad, she could prove it to the both of them. Of course, Kagome had no clue what exactly Inuyasha has to face in comparison to her own predicament with youkai. Those with demon blood steered clear of her and humans tended to side with her for that. Inuyasha didn't have any sort of support. Still, she would be strong; she wanted this so badly for his sake.

Glancing thoughtfully back at the buildings, Kagome wondered if he had made any more friends while he was here. If they were waiting for him like her own group were likely waiting to hear the result of this impromptu meeting. Somehow, with the way he held himself and the cryptic words he had given her, she doubted it, unfortunately. "Did you already eat lunch?" she asked. It was worth a shot.

Imagine your OTP are not together yet, and they go swimming (bonus if it’s with friends). In one way or another, they get into a splashing war, and Person A, realizing they have feelings for Person B, pulls B underwater for a kiss. Person B’s reaction is completely up to you.

He really didn’t want to say much with her friends right there or in a crowded cafeteria. If people were to see him apologizing then he’d be even more of a target from people thinking he was soft and an easy target so he was relieved when he seen her pack up her lunch and stand up. The stares on him from her friends was making him uncomfortable.

He gladly went with her when she gave a quick but soft tug to his sleeve, following her from the cafeteria and instantly relaxing once out of sight of everyone else. He had felt eyes on him from every angle in there so he was more than glad to escape. But why did she seem so relieved to get out of there too?

"Er…weren’t those girls yer friends?" he replied in surprise to her words of gratitude, not catching on that she was joking. Of course going by the conversation he’d heard as he’d approached he couldn’t blame her. They were practically forcing her to date a guy she’d plainly told them she wasn’t interested in.

But that wasn’t any of his business, he’d been an ass to her that morning and barely knew her so he had no business getting involved in her personal matters.. Still though regardless, he couldn’t help but feel sorry for her if things like a date were being forced on her. It was her romantic life, she had more say in it than those girls before regardless of what their intentions may be. But he still had to explain why he’d asked to talk with her.

"…Uh..I’m sorry I pulled ya from yer lunch..an’ for this morning. I know I was a asshole ta ya, but I ain’t used ta people approachin’ me in a friendly way. I assumed the worse an’ though ya were tryin’ ta make me let my guard down an’ then join with the others ta tease an’ hate on me.." he explained as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "I’m a hanyou so its kinda expected now.."

Once they were clear and out of the cafeteria, Kagome sucked in a deep breath of fresh air before turning to him with a tilt of her head. Curiosity was already eating at her but she would be patient! She would rather not make him grumpy again if she could help it. Seeing as he came to her first, it would have to mean a pretty good start, wouldn't it?

An inquiry already on her tongue, Inuyasha had beat her to the punch with the question about her trio. "They are!" she nodded with a sheepish smile. Some of the things they did were a bit awkward for her but the good qualities definitely outweighed the bad. "It's just that they get a bit... pushy, sometimes." She really hoped that the hanyou didn't catch them trying to convince her to date; that would be embarrassing.

Her hand came up to push stray raven strands behind her ear as she looked up at his face, having to stare. It was so rare that a youkai would get any where near her. This close, she could appreciate the otherworldly attributes about him, like his eyes... or his ears... Biting her lip, she laced her hands behind her back casually.

"It's no problem," Kagome gave him a kind look. It was as she thought, he assumed the worst of her. Of course, it wouldn't be like her at all to do something so terrible, but knowing he was picked on because he was a hanyou brought some of her earlier annoyance back at how her classmates were. "You're not... getting picked on here, are you?" It made her sick to think some people could be so cruel. After all, she wasn't ordinary either, proven by the looks she receives when she's too close to a youkai.

"Anyway," she shook her head and shifted her weight. "What happened this morning is no big deal. To be honest, I almost expected something like that." She wasn't exactly a demon's favorite person to be around. Hence why she had merely stared before he caught her. "But now that that's over with, would it be alright to talk to you now?" Her smile widened ever so slightly at the small teasing lilt to her voice, "without the insults?"

Inuyasha focused all his attention on taking notes and soaking in what the assignment was about to try to keep his mind off the miko and the recurring feeling of her eyes on him. He was already cautious of her, but that flare up of reiki that had skittered over his skin actually had an involuntary whine of discomfort leaving him before. Thankfully no one seemed to have heard it, but his cheeks had flushed all the same from the embarrassing sound until he cleared his throat softly and focused as he was doing now.

What ever it was that had caused the flare up, it seemed she didn’t have control of it and if he was right then that made her power dangerous to those like himself. But in a way she did seem to have control of it too ‘cause as soon as the flare of reiki began it cut off again just as fast. Or perhaps she didn’t realize she sent out reiki until she noticed the youkai in the room cringing like he had heard them doing and cut it off then..?

He’d ask her about it when he talked to her after class he decided and shifted uncomfortably in his seat when feeling her stare again and besides that, the hard plastic of the desks weren’t all that comfortable. He dutifully took notes though, blowing silver bangs out of his eyes when they got in the way until finally first period came to an end and he gladly let go of his pen. If he had to take notes like this all day he was going to have cramping hands before the end of the day.

He sighed as he flipped his notebook closed and returned it to his book bag, looking up just in time to see Kagome sending him the look. Oh great, now she pitied him on top of him being an ass to her before. But it looked like he’d have to hold off on his plans to talk to her he noticed as he stepped into the hall as well. They were going opposite directions this time.

The day seemed to go by slowly especially with the hate that he was given in his classes by both youkai and humans, but he managed and before long, lunch had come. He didn’t buy much to eat and wished he had brought his lunch from home when he had his food in hand, but looked around, searching for one raven haired girl. He spotted her soon enough, or more like his nose caught her scent and he walked up to her and awkwardly cleared his throat.

"Oi…uh..Kagome right..?" he asked hesitantly. "C-Can I talk ta ya a minute?"

Classes went on as usual. Most of them were a bore today; Kagome gave it a thought that she might be studying a bit too much if she could teach herself half of the next assignment. One glance to her trio of friends, however, told her that her life was as balanced as she could manage. They went out from time to time and Yuka attempts to hook her up with Hojo, despite her protests and his awkward fumbling to make sense of the situation, ensured that she was living the usual life of a teenager.

Shaking her head absently, she smiled and nodded to something Eri said. Eri was obviously happy with her answer to a question Kagome hadn't paid attention to- which resulted in regret when she exclaimed that Kagome had finally agreed to an actual date with Hojo.

"H-Hey, wait a second!" Kagome pulled her friend back down in her seat- and off of her high horse. "Will you cut that out?! I'm not interested in him!" Her indignant words fell to a peeved mutter as Eri and Yuka chatted amongst themselves about a potential place. The subject changed so fast that Kagome let it drop for the second time this week.

"Ne, Kagome," Ayumi nudged her with a small smile. "You've met the hanyou, haven't you? Is he like everyone's saying?"

She shook her head. "Definitely not. I still don't understand why people are giving him a hard time about his mixed heritage. Honestly, he's still a living being like all of us are." Kagome bit the inside of her cheek, wondering if he was still facing the judgmental looks in each of his classes. He was still the new student and everyone was treating him like a leper.

Sighing, her gaze swept around the table between her friends, looking for silver hair among the masses. She told herself she would meet him again at lunch but...

Her friends grew oddly quiet, staring in her direction as if she had grown a second head. She lifted a brow as Eri's expression shifted to concern as Yuka's tense visage eyed a space above her head warily. Ayumi's look of surprise finally caused her to say, "What is it?"

Then a shadow fell over her and she looked up with curiosity, merely blinking when she met the gold irises of Inuyasha. She didn't think that he would choose to go to her. "Um," A quick glance back at her friends had her packing her untouched bento box. Better to see what he had to say before Eri and Yuka could figure out how to plan her imaginary date. "Sure. What's up, Inuyasha?" She offered a small smile, hoping that this chance would end well. She shouldered her bag before tugging on his sleeve to get him to quickly follow her before her friends could ask questions. "Thanks for saving me," she uttered- she was kidding, of course. She loved her friends dearly, even if they were a bit too much into her love life- or lack there of.

You know why I love AUs? Because the whole point of them is that everything is changed, and yet these two people are still going to meet and fall in love- that they’re so set in stone and so meant to be that you can change literally everything in a hundred universes and they’ll fall in love over and over again.

Keh, stupid woman calling him out in the middle of a quickly filling room. But she was right, he realized, she’d merely greeted him this morning and he was the one who snapped at her and as a result they’d gotten off to a bad start. She was a miko sure, but she didn’t seem to realize how powerful her reiki was if going by her comment of a better career was any indication and if she wanted to give him a hard time she could have just done so from the get-go.

Could it be, she was genuinely only interested in talking to him? It was a long shot of course, but not all humans were despicable to half breeds such as himself, the evidence was in his mother. She loved him half breed or not, provided for him as best as she could, made sure that he knew she loved him. So if there was one…could there be others? Had he jumped to the wrong conclusions before? Or was his mother only biased and cared for him because he was her son?

Hah! Yeah right! His mom wasn’t like that. She held strong compassion in her heart and empathized with people easily without having to actually go through what they had. He had found her many times shedding tears even for strangers that she knew was having a hard time in one way or another. His mother was just that kind of person, tender hearted, but strong too.

He’d seen her quite a few times already stick for those like him or when he was ridiculed as a pup she would get very protective. He’d never seen her outright yell at or strike someone, but the look she gave his tormentors could have made them drop dead right then and there if looks could kill. Who knew what she actually did after telling him to wait in the car? He was close enough to see so he knew she didn’t get violent and as far as his ears could tell she hadn’t yelled. But the look on their faces told him that she’d gone Inu mama on them.

He smirked at that, slowly coming out of his musing and reminiscing to listen to role call after the final bell chimed and signaled the beginning of first period so he caught that girl’s name from before when her name was called and she responded.

Higurashi Kagome huh? Like that old song? He shook his head at that, chances were if he had caught on to that, that she had been teased for it when she was little. Hm, maybe that was why she tried to reach out to him. Maybe she too had been picked on, maybe not as much as he was, but it was possible she was some.

"Taisho Inuyasha?"

"Present," he responded then lowered his eyes to his notebook when whispers erupted around him, whispers he didn’t need inu hearing to know the topic of, but he ignored it best he could and doodled on his paper with a goal in mind.

He’d catch up to that girl after class and try to apologize, pride be damned. He still wasn’t going to let his guard down, but it was better to watch up close to see if she did in fact have intent to tease or if she was being genuine before.

It was hard not to catch his name once the class got excited over the new kid in the room. There was enough negativity to choke a large youkai, fueling her irritation at their sudden judgement of him. Now it was no wonder why Inuyasha was wary of her. Her spiritual powers must have been affected by her mood, as the few youkai students on the other side of the room suddenly quieted down, some hunching in their seats and shuddering. Biting her lip, Kagome returned her gaze to the front of the class, glad when the teacher finished taking attendance and immediately turned to the board to begin.

Stupid, stupid- A small pout formed as she looked down at her notes as the lecture started. It was irritating how quick he had been to jump the gun and judge her the second she stepped up to him, but he had his reasons just as she had hers. He must have seen her as no different from any other that had picked on him, even worse so when he registered her potential miko status.

Her pen idly tapped against her notebook, giving the work no mind as her thoughts blurred between paying attention to the current lesson and the aura of the hanyou to her left. She had told him that she basically had no interest in being a shrine maiden, but it was nearly impossible to avoid considering she lived on shrine grounds. Her power was untamed but incredibly active around youkai; most likely why she had been placed in classes with very few of the beings. The school took notice and didn't want any accidents happening. Her grandfather was proud to hear that her power existed so strongly after being dormant in her family line for centuries, at least. It was disappointing to know that she was seen in such a different light but there wasn't much she could do.

Hanyou... Inuyasha wasn't all human, but apparently, the school staff didn't mind it, given that no one- beside their classmates- had voiced any concern. Lowering her jaw into her upturned hand, she sighed softly and began taking notes. She'll try once more at lunch; it was a decent amount of time between this bad morning and then to give them time to cool down. If he persisted to be suspicious and insisted to be alone, she would leave him be. She wanted to make a friend, not be a bother. When class was dismissed, she left with a single, apologetic glance back at him and not another word as she tagged along with Ayumi to her next class.
