#TheHomelessPeriod exposes the unique menstruation problem homeless women face 

The new campaign shines a light on homeless women who need assistance caring for their menstrual cycles. According to the Guardian, approximately 26% of people in the U.K. who receive “homelessness services” are female. But in most shelters, “sanitary ware or any kind of period ephemera is scarce,” Vice reported earlier this year. Three women have a plan to fix that.

The Trans Lifeline got so many donations in the past 36 hours, its server crashed

  • Trump’s administration announced on Wednesday that it was reversing guidelines put in place by Obama to protect transgender students in public schools.
  • Right away, people put their wallets to work, eager to throw their weight behind groups working to help and defend trans kids.
  • In just 36 hours, the Trans Lifeline — a crisis hotline “by and for” the transgender community — received around $51,000 in donations, Trans Lifeline Director of Communication André Pérez said in an email Thursday. With Kate Mckinnon voicing Ms Frizzle, imagine how upset conservatives will get when they find out a lesbian is using magic to teach kids science. It’s like their worst nightmare.
