Sure the insecurity was there as you've mentioned but the narrative made is sooo personal ("I want you to aim higher"). Either there were deleted scenes or they just did a shit job at setting up why she was so upset that Brittany chose Sam instead of someone else.

@whatifshouldhave that’s actually a really great way of looking at it. you’re right, santana was really the only love interest brittany had who never called her stupid or treated her like a child

so the “aim higher” thing was actually about santana wanting the best for brittany, it’s just that she was holding sam to this standard that he could never meet because she knew he didn’t look at brittany the same way she did.

idk why i went so negative with it this is a lot nicer to think about and makes a lot of sense for both of their characters

this is also very true. it was great to have bi representation from a show in the early 2010s but it sucked that it had to have this stigma surrounding it.
