Allow myself to introduce...myself. My name is Dieter Kurtenbach and I am a sports fan by nature and a journalist by training. I hope to find the happy medium here at Men of Merseyside.

I'm an American, raised in Chicago. I fell for the game of football at a young age as a youth league keeper. The soccer (I'm not keen on calling it such, unless to reference the American game) fans I knew were all ManU fans. That wouldn't due. As arbitrarily as a 10-year-old boy could pick a team, I chose Liverpool. That's when the love affair started.

Let me put it this way, I know how to do the Jerzy.

There have been more ups than downs in recent years, and at the time of this writing, it appears that there will be a strech of downs in the future.

I'm here to plow through those speculations with reserved optimism, a keen eye for trend, and a clear wit.
