The Alchemy Collection: The Genesis of Design from #abccarpetandhome. This is my fifth campaign with the amazing @angelagruzka at abccarpetandhome. Collaborating with Angela over the years has been a highlight for me, as it is truly art in advertising. For this campaign we decided to shoot in a cavern 500 feet underground and 3/4 of a mile in to achieve 6 final images for the 2017 Campaign. For the past two years I have been working on a personal project with my studio mate, art director George McCalman (@tuffgee), titled the #individualsproject. It’s been an amazing ride so far - over 100 portraits of influential Bay Area artists, chefs, writers, painters, musicians, philanthropists, doctors, designers, techies, photographers, etc. - - Today, we bring you our latest #individualsproject - a collaboration with San Francisco Magazine focusing on politics, titled “The Resistance” (#theresistance). - - The 20 page feature is a photo portfolio of those elected officials and dedicated activists leading California and the country in defending our rights against all things Trump. I have learned over the past few weeks to understand the word ‘resistance’ to really mean ‘resilience'. The 38 people I photographed will fight, but they will also be resilient to the hate that Trump spreads… - - I’m very proud of this body of work. I spent the last two days in the studio photographing a series of limited edition Stormtrooper masks, called the Legion Series. I love playing with light and color on a subject that I have loved since I was 8 years old.
