You are a courier, hired by the Mojave Express to deliver a package to the New Vegas Strip. What seemed like a simple delivery job has taken a turn... for the worse.

For people with anxiety about filing taxes, here’s what things that happen when you make a mistake on your tax return:

- it gets corrected

- you get a letter in the mail either asking for some additional information or a letter showing the adjustment

- you pay the amount (there’s options for payment plans too!) or get a refund

Things that do not happen

- you’re “in trouble”

- you are charged with fraud

- you go to jail

I know that most people are probably just joking/exaggerating when they say a mistake on their return means they get thrown in jail but when I worked with the public I always would encounter people who believed that would happen and they would be panicking about it. So I like to put this out there every year because if I can even prevent one person from feeling that way, it’s worth it

Annual reblog of this important information.

The thingy above where you sign your tax form says that you’ve filled it out to the best of your ability.  “Sir, I am a dumbass” is 100% a valid defense

The correction isn't entirely accurate. I'm a student of environmental science, so here's my understanding from my classes:

  • Well-built solar panels can last up to 50 years, but are usually only warrantied for 25-30.
  • You can keep using less efficient solar panels, and they're often resold at lower prices for end-of-life usage.
  • Solar panel waste is absolutely not more toxic than nuclear waste. However, it does often contain heavy metals like lead and cadmium that can be dangerous to human health in high enough concentration. So, depending on local laws & the composition of the specific solar panel, solar panel waste may or may not be classified as hazardous waste.
  • Solar panel waste is, unfortunately, not easy to recycle. Their layered structure makes efficiently separating the components difficult, and it's currently cheaper to landfill them. However, as solar panels age, more and more places are developing techniques and legislating recycling! The future is bright!
  • The concern about solar waste being sent to poorer countries? It's a real problem. However, that doesn't mean we shouldn't make solar panels, as this guy seems to be insinuating - we just need to plan their end of life better. We have the tools!

today was single handedly the best day of my life. i caught a cop stealing from the store i work at

literally watched him slide a candy bar into his sleeve and i literally felt like i was on top of the world. i felt like i could throw a car over my head. he walked around the store for a bit after that looking to see if we have any locally made pickles and then when he couldnt find any he was about to leave and im like ^__^ have a good night, are you going to pay for the candy bar you stole :3? and then i got to watch a grown ass pig shyly walk up to the counter to pay kinda just awkwardly laughing about it and was like "whoops forgot about it haha...." and then left without another word. this opportunity will never happen ever again. being able to tell a cop that he needs to pay for a candy bar he attempted to steal makes me feel incredibly powerful

Hey btw I don't know who needs to hear this, but those adults telling you that your teen years are the best years of your life? Yeah I don't know what the hell they're smoking, either. I'm 29 and every once in a while I just sit here and think "man, it sure sucked to be 14. Glad I never have to do that again."
