Justice looked up with eyes caught in an abyss of worry and contempt. Eyes that had seen the glories of redemption and the fiery brisks of Hell. Eyes that knew the sorrow they faced wherever they roamed. Eyes that looked upon Wanda Maximoff and saw the good, saw the light and the strength and the purity that no one else had ever seen. Eyes that flickered away in an instant.

For the longest time, decades now it felt in a manner of months, Justice had been running. On the move and out of the way, she had told herself it was the best way to protect those that she loved. That it was necessary to keep them safe, even from herself.

But had that really been true?

Or had she been running from something else entirely? Something that she knew damn well she was never going to outrun.

"I want you, Wanda." The words tumbled from her lips like a cascade and she had no way of stopping it. "I want to hold you and touch you and dry your tears and make you scream from something far different from nightmares." The redhead chanced a hand onto the woman's hip once more. "I want to, at least for tonight, pull you in close and make you forget there was ever a time that you had felt alone."

She was pulling the woman into her lap again, one hand poised gently on her hip while the other traced patterns up her spine with a soft touch. "Please, Wanda Maximoff, will you marry me in this bed, if only for tonight?"
