All day, prominent websites and organizations — from the ACLU, WordPress.com, Vimeo, Meetup and Kickstarter — have added messages to their websites asking visitors to contact their lawmakers and the Federal Communications Commission in support of net neutrality.

they want to make the internet like tv. with channels and paying to get to specific websites and things. net neutrality = not doing that
This impacts every internet user. Please signal boost the hell out of this and sign the petition if you are American
I do not reblog things like this very often, but this affects me both personally and my business as a freelance artist.
In the economy here; cash is already strapped as it is. You bet your ass companies would suck the ever living life out of misc. art sites.
I don’t want it to ever come down to me choosing between groceries or purchasing a new tier package via comcast to be able to access tumblr or DeviantArt (let alone not guaranteeing I’ll even be seen by my customer base since they may not want to pay out their asses either). It doesn’t seem important to most, but I do 90% of my business online entirely.
Please sign up, fight for this and share it with your followers/friends/family and urge them to give them hell as well.
Not writing related, but this is incredibly important. While we pay for service via ISPs, the internet has been a relatively free space where everyone, no matter their income level, is able to connect, access a wealth of information, and express themselves. The Internet has become a major part of our culture as human beings and the notion that ISPs might be able to limit what sites I can access unless I pay them more is utterly sickening. A lot of us are cash strapped as is, and I’d rather not be limited even more by someone else’s greed. Net Neutrality is essential and I hope you guys will understand why it needs to remain.

this portrait series will focus on LGBT people that have been victims of hate crimes, committed suicide or have died of AIDS. I am hoping to raise awareness within and outside the queer community about the tragedies queer people have and continue to face. Study for a portrait of Marsha P Johnson (1944-1992)

Hey guys! So, for a while I had been trying to figure out whether or not I should go about setting up a Patreon to help me dedicate more time to my projects. Unfortunately the closing of PinkPepper made my decision final and I began setting up a page. I know a lot of other artists have been doing this and I’ve been sitting on this page for a couple months so I think now would be a good time to launch it!
My reasoning for the Patreon is to give me the ability to start doing some of my projects. Many of you may have seen me discuss in the past things like folios and comics and almost a year ago I posted a journal asking for polls on my FA so I could figure out what to work on. But the problem I kept running into is that I couldn’t figure out a place to sell my work when the project was complete. And even if I did find a website that allowed adult content there was still the fear of having my work being pirated and losing a good chunk of the profit in the process. So with the help of Patreon and the people who are willing to become patrons, my plan is to release my projects to the public for free. Obviously, it won’t be free to the people who are donating but those who donate will be getting benefits such as access to the sketches and full color images before they’re posted publicly as well as the ability to vote and give input on upcoming projects. Currently my highest tier is only 5$ but for now I think that’ll be ok! I don’t have time to offer much else really (such as raffles) but any input is appreciated!
Also if you don’t like Patreon that’s cool but I’d appreciate any negative comments to not be brought to my attention if that’s ok! If anyone is worried about censoring I won’t be doing that. Like I said, the Patreon is being made so I can release uncensored work for free! I won’t be censoring stuff and posting it to be like ‘Hey go here to see the uncensored version!’ I will also still be accepting commissions so no one has to really worry about me not doing commissions anymore ouo
