Fading out of tumblr

Probably not going to be active on this site anymore. It’s served its purpose for me and I’m finding myself less interested in staying on it.

If you still want Quality Santana Social Media, follow me on one of these:

Instagram.com/santanaberryman

(For project updates, actor things and pictures of my face)

OR

Frigid-artchick on snapchat

(For dumb jokes and aesthetic shit)

Mutuals and other cuties, please follow me elsewhere so we can keep in touch. Otherwise, it’s been a slice - take care, everyone.

If I was a necromancer I would genuinely be willing to drag HP Lovecraft out of his grave in 2017 and make him watch The Shape of Water just to spite him

But be honest, the cat dying would upset him more than anything else.

As though he wouldn’t identify with the fish guy, and as though Del Toro isn’t a fan of his.

I’ve been asked many times what someone should look for when trying to find a good artist. The best way you can do this is to look at their portfolio, whether it’s in a book at their shop or online. If they don’t have good work in their portfolio, they’re probably not good artists.

The shop may be clean, the people there might be nice, and the design they draw up for you might be exactly what you want, but if your artist doesn’t stand up to the points listed above, then you’re going to get a bad tattoo.

It’s okay to walk into a shop, talk with an artist for a while, and decide you don’t want a tattoo from them. Even if the artist has a bad attitude about it or tries to convince you to just let them do it, remember this is going to be on your body for the rest of your life.

This is fucking fantastic thank you!!

Seriously take this advice. I have a fair few of very bad tattoos, the worst being a snippet from a poem on my rib. It is now completely illegible from the way ink bleeds, the text was done way too small. I have one on my ankle that has chunks missing because the “artist” was so heavy handed. All of this is completely true. I was 18 and didn’t know better and I was rushing to get lots of little tattoos. Now I regret nearly all of my tattoos with the exception of three, and I need coverup work done badly but there’s no way I’m going to be able to afford all of it anytime soon, so I have to live with these ugly mistakes. Listen to this post. Trust me. I wish I’d seen this 6 years ago.

Every parody of Star Trek TOS: “It appears we’ve once again crossed paths with our old enemy, Emperor Zorblax!”

Every actual episode of Star Trek TOS: “It appears we’ve once again crossed paths with our old enemy…fascism.”

Y'all think being in a goth relationship means wearing white makeup together but Mary Shelley lost her virginity on her mother’s grave so maybe step it up.

Mary Shelley carried her husband’s heart around and lived in a crypt after he died. No one will ever be as goth as Mary Shelley.

She also wasn’t carrying around, like, a mummified heart. Her husband’s heart had calcified, meaning it had grown bone within itself and possibly around itself, and it is this heart of bone which she carried. When she was young she carried it wrapped in a silk pouch, and when older it was kept in her desk, wrapped in a page from his poem Adonais. Adonais was one of his last poems, in which a deceased poet’s subjects (nature, Spring, the stars) mourn him, and long to join him in death. Then the narrator tells them do not mourn, for he has gone beyond where the minds and emotions of humans matter, to the Natural Spirit that is the source of all beauty.

Of his poems, it is this which she wrapped his heart in. There is none. more. goth.

It’s sad to realize that peak goth was hit so long ago
