3 years ago we started Doable Guys using Tumblr as our main website. We discovered an amazing well of talent and befriended so many wonderful people in the queer community.
But we now find ourselves unwelcome here. Although the artwork we highlight typically skews towards the erotic, at the end of the day it is ART. Not even photography, but artistic interpretations of the male form, drawn or painted. And a good chunk of the posts that have been flagged as “sensitive content” are actually laughable.
Doable Guys does NOT condone the censorship of artwork and we will not continue to post on a platform that feels it’s ok to suddenly change their content policy and erase years of posts, with seemingly zero rhyme or reason. Once the new policies go into effect on Dec 17, we are saying our goodbyes to Tumblr.
We hope you will continue to follow our posts on our website (www.doableguys.com) and on our Instagram (@doableguys). We are so grateful for the queer artistic community that we are a part of and it would be tragic to say goodbye to any of you.
Keep supporting queer artists. Keep making queer art. And don’t let anyone tell you what you can and cannot create. Each of our voices are important and strengthen the community as a whole. Peace out, Tumblr.
It’s been a great place to show off little bits of artwork, but I stand with Doable Guys on this. I will not sit and worry that if I tag a post wrong that my figure drawing will be erased.
Fuck censorship. And fuck tumblr.
