A seriously underrated part in the dungeon meshi manga to me is the Marcille and Laios moments during the whole familiar/griffin debacle.

Idk when Laios says “she says it’s easiest to relax this way” and “She’s doing her best. That’s what.” it really warms my heart. Marcille can be pretty self conscious/uncertain at times, and him reassuring her is nice to see.

He stands up for Falin in a similar way when people were calling her weird when they were children, and as someone who *is* unabashedly weird, he has nothing to lose with associating with people being shunned for behaving unconventionally, and doesn’t give much care to other people’s opinions. It’s just little interactions like this that make me enjoy this series so much!
