i think a lot of writers have like. ideas that reoccur in their work a lot. and i don’t mean anticapitalism or grief or whatever i mean very specific ideas like intimacy through combing hair or mangled limbs which usually originate from a rl experience (the examples are things i use or think of using a lot)

  • cupping someone’s cheek
  • hand at the small of the back
  • teeth against someone’s clit
  • laying your head in someone’s lap
  • inhaling sharply
  • probably more I can’t remember.

You can nominate fics, artworks, manips, videos and comments in different more specific categories! The nomination has to be exact, nominations without the category can't be used.

The easiest way to nominate works is by doing so in the Google Doc as instructed there, but if you can't access it for whatever reason, you can send nominations in an ask to the categories below the cut!

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Review: An Adaptation That Needs Tailoring

A much more eloquent review, but same. The musical lacks a point of view, as this review points out. It’s trying to be everything all at once, and as a result, nothing is done well or memorable.

I love musical theater and I’ve seen plenty of adaptations (screen-to-stage and stage-to-screen), and I fully appreciate the tweaks that come with it. Sometimes they make it better, sometimes not, but I never went into this expecting a live-action movie. It just really fell flat. I’d be really curious to know what someone who never saw the movie thought of it—and whether they were confused af or not.

This year (2022), there will be fan-run TDWP fanwork awards to show our appreciation for all the fan creations, from fanfic over art to video and more!

What is a fanwork award?

There are different ways awards can be run, but basically everyone can nominate works in different categories for example for fic and art, and later vote for their favourites!

How will the award be organized?

Works will be nominated over google docs, with the option to send in messages here or on discord if that doesn't work for someone for whatever reason, and the voting will take place on the discord server to prevent tampering by people voting multiple times and to make it easier for mods to oversee.

The works in first, second and third places will be added to an Ao3 winner's collection (if the creators allow it), or reblogged here with a winner's banner depending on where they have been posted.
