When I was a teen, my mom replaced the toilet in the bathroom I shared with my sister. Rather than disposing of the old, broken toilet, she turned it into a planter for some of her flowers. I was absolutely mortified at the time (”mom, it’s so tacky!” *stomp stomp stomp bedroom door slams*), but now I think it’s pretty rad. So I made a toilet planter for my simmies, as well as a tub one. Because why the heck not?

These are both basegame compatible. You can plant one seed in the toilet, and three in the tub. All plants seem to work, with the exception of trees. Both are found under Decor–>Plants. The toilet is 50 simoleons, and the tub is 75.

There is an issue with the tub I couldn’t fix. Sims clip into it while planting and tending to the plants. I tried to fix it, but couldn’t seem to figure it out. I hope it isn’t too off-putting for ya’ll. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Active TS3 CC Finds

Since Lana CC Finds has updated lesser and lesser TS3 CC, some people seem to have difficulties to find more newly-made TS3 CC. I would like to recommend several TS3 CC Finds that still update almost daily. The more people using them, the more efficient they are. Eventually we might be able to reform a stronger network.

If you take a closer look at these CC Finds, you’ll see why some of us insist TS3 community is shrinking but not dying. Indeed we’ve lost some greatest minds, but still there are CC creators out there working on new creations or conversions, gameplayers sharing their funny or amazing moments. I do believe it’s more like a lack-of-proper-channel problem. If you find this post helps, reblog it to let more fellow players know!

My CC finds isn’t extensive but I’ve had it for a long time. I don’t reblog everything. Just what I want to download, use in my game or keep track of for maybe a historical challenge or something like that. I don’t queue anything. If it’s something I want, I reblog it and it could be 1 thing or 10 things at one time. ;)

How to Find Sims3 Blogs

This seems like it’s a difficult thing for some, so here are some tips:

1. Follow a few blogs that reblog or promote other blogs:

That’s most of the TS3 finds/directory blogs I follow… because I mostly just follow the individual creators these days, but these blogs help me find new creators. Non-creators I mostly find via other blogs I follow - see below.

2. When you download something from a creator off of a CC finds blog… FOLLOW THE CREATOR!

So go follow your creators, leave some likes on their original posts. It encourages them to continue creating! 

3. Do a tumblr search for the following tags:

Protip: Try different spacings of words in tags or different spellings, ie: ‘#sims 3 #thesims3 #the sims 3′, etc.

4. When a blog you follow posts a WCIF, follow the link…

I’ve found SO many blogs this way… some active and some not.

5. Take a peek at the notes of posts you particularly like…

It’s an excellent way to find fellow simblrs that may have similar tastes to yours.

6. If you find a blog you like that seems inactive… follow it anyways!

I’ve done this a lot and am always delighted when some of those blogs become active again after a while. I’ve gotten to know some awesome simmers this way.

7. Pay attention to the tags on the Simblrs you follow.

Try searching for other blogs that use those same tags. (See step 3.)

8. If you know how to create CC, help others learn, too.

It is SO time-consuming creating tutorials, especially comprehensive step-by-step ones that you record a video for, or take screen captures of, etc. But if you have the time, share your methods of creating content, or just post brief pro-tips once in a while, or a directory of the tutorials you’ve used, or link folks to help forums on TSR & MTS where people’s questions can be answered.

Just spread the info, so that more people can at least get started on making CC. Part of the reason why there are less creators is because the ones that know keep their knowledge to themselves, and when they leave, the information they have leaves with them.

9. Get creative! Start a new gameplay theme!

On the off-chance that you’re feeling bored, or you have a cool idea you’re inspired by, start a community challenge or prompt! End-of-the-year national holidays like Halloween or Xmas don’t need to be the only peak times for simmers to get involved. Things like the What’s In Your Bag challenge are so spontaneous and fun – not only did it promote CC, but it also encouraged simmers to share more about their OCs & worldbuilding, tag each other, and get everyone involved. Come up with something everyone can participate in. Let’s bring back Lookbooks, or even the Sims magazines! O_O (I miss Living Sims & SF Magazine).

10. Leave comments on people’s posts!

Whether it’s CC you’re downloading, or a gameplay post you thought was cool, say something! Hitting the Like button is great, but taking the time to leave words of encouragement goes a long way in keeping some simmers motivated to keep posting, and it helps break the ice and build friendships & make connections. Even if you don’t speak the same language, emojis/emoticons are universal. 👍 😍 ❤️ 😂 👌 🔥 💯 etc.

Micro Tutorial: Pose Morphs

So, I was recently asked how I did the pregnancy morphs for my pose set, “Posing For Two”.  I’m sure that other, better tutorials have this information, but here is a quick micro tip on how to do it in case you were also wondering.

(Note: This is for Blender.  I have no idea how to do it for Milkshape.)  

(Also Note: This tutorial assumes you already are set up for doing poses and know your way around.)

Down in the CLIPtools menu area, under “S3PY Rig Tools” there is a button labeled ‘Set Morphs’.  Poke that bad boy.

And a little pop-up should come up such as this:

I *believe* the settings are between 0.0 and 1.0 with 0 being “not at all” and 1.0 being the full setting.  So for ‘Pregnant’ 1.0 would be the final stage.  Or at least that is what worked for me.  

One caveat - it is my experience that the morph settings do not persist between sessions.  That is, if you save your file off and come back later, they won’t be pregnant.  You have to re-set the morphs.  No biggie, just something to be aware of.

(And yes, I realize that I have a male sim in my above examples.  I’m lazy and it was the last rig I had opened so it was in my hot links. LOL But hey, in Sims males can get knocked up too.)

Following up on Dr. Strange Odd’s Sanctum Simctorum, here’s Aunt March’s House! (It’s Aunt May’s House from Spiderman). It’s a blend of both the comics and movie versions.

(lol yes I did just come back from watching Into the Spider-verse, but go watch it, it has some of the best art direction, characterization and general cohesiveness/relatability of any animation or even superhero flick in recent years- even for people who aren’t into those sorts of films).

I deleted the hyperkaos blog, it got royally screwed. If I tried to search for it, it was locking up my browser.  It doesn’t show in the listings, they NEVER responded to my request for a review, there’s nothing linking me to this new blog.
