The Greek underworld, called Hades after the god who ruled it, was a place where souls went after death and was the Greek idea of afterlife. At the moment of death the soul was separated from the corpse, taking on the shape of the former person, and was transported to the entrance of Hades. Hades itself was described as being either at the outer bounds of the ocean or beneath the depths or ends of the earth. It was considered the dark counterpart to the brightness of Mount Olympus, and was the kingdom of the dead that corresponded to the kingdom of the gods. Hades was a realm invisible to the living and it was made solely for the dead. [x]

It has been so long - he’s been with his mother in Greece for months, trying to calm her down after she had begun badgering is father again, and it seems to have worked. She let him go without a fuss, ready to start his studies again. But it’s not his studies hes been missing: it’s Harry. So he made sure, after so long, to let him know that he was coming back. For good.

He’s tired. A ten hour flight culminating in an hour trekking through the airport, and he really just wants to go home. Home, to bed. But the he sees a very familiar face, and he breaks into a grin.

“Harry!”

if he admits it, he’s never been so alone in his life, without Killie with him. his apartment felt so barren and bare, his bed cold and empty and his heart heavy when he didn’t see him, only heard him over the phone. his siblings had tried to help fill the void, hes and arty had been over more in those months than they had been in three years, with deon as always. even dite had paid him a call. harry didn’t want them; all he’s ever wanted is KILLIE.

the moment the message had come through, harry had tailed it to the bus terminal, standing there bouncing on the heels of his feet in his anticipation. then he’d heard the voice he’s been missing for months, and he all but whips around to see him. his heart aches and his legs take him sprinting into his arms.

“Killie!”
