The fact that Microsoft Word has to be a subscription is upsetting. I already paid for it why do I have to pay again

Yes please be mad about it, genuinely- You used to be able to purchase a single disk to install it and use it forever after that initial purchase of one key. It sickens me to see all this stuff which used to be a one time purchase be shunted under a subscription now.

"Why is pirating going back up?!"

This. This is why. People don't mind paying a high price for software if it's only the once, or every 4-5 years.

But having to pay a high price regularly? Especially in the cases where you lose access to your own work if you don't?

That's why people are pirating software.

It’s possible to buy a non-subscription version of Word; Microsoft just intentionally makes it very difficult to find (and also expensive).

However, I know a guy who knows a guy website: MS Office Pro for $50. If the link starts going to a Page Not Found, just search the site; they usually have some form of this sale available.

Worth noting: while $50 is still more money than $yo-ho-ho, that money is a great way to make VERY clear to Microsoft that we DO want one-time-purchase products, not subscriptions.

My laptop just died. If it can't be fixed and I need to replace it, this post is gonna be a real life saver, because my family has been sharing an old version of Word that came with a limited number of lifetime licenses, and we're fresh out.

Get LibreOffice. It's fully compatible with MS Office, but it's free and open source. You're welcome. :-)

What makes this even funnier is if you’re a rich guy and do this the actual poker players will shower you with praise and stroke your ego (especially when you win hands through sheer variance) and say you’re great and to keep doing what you’re doing because they’re just siphoning money from you and want you to keep it up. Like, that’s the original definition of a “whale” in the gambling sense

It's not 'understanding something about risk that no one else does' it's 'is able to screw up constantly without facing any actual consequences, unlike every other player at the table.'

The way transphobic cis gay men depict gay trans men is so weird.

Why did they give the trans guy a phalloplasty scar on his arm but no dick to go with it. Do these idiots think trans guys just get their arms operated on for no reason? Also, why is the trans guy more curvaceous than the cis woman in panel 1? Why does the trans guy have eyelashes but the cis woman doesn’t? In fact, no one has defined genitals EXCEPT the trans guy, who is drawn very specifically to indicate he has a vulva and not a dick… again despite the fact that he’s definitely had bottom surgery because of the arm scar.

I’m not even gonna comment on the random syringe just hanging from his leg, that’s too ridiculous to warrant critique.

Its funny, the artist both wanted to emphasize how trans men don't belong in gay men's spaces because they want to FORCE homosexual males into VAGINAL SEX! But they also wanted to shit on phalloplasty.

The artist of this is clearly just so focused on being transphobic that any logic goes out the window. Like, some transphobes will make trans men out to be super feminine hairless twinks who don't understand Real Gay Men's masculinity. And this person clearly wanted to that. But they also make the trans man explicitly hairy, which seems like exactly the opposite of that. Because they are both trying to say "trans men are too girly to be men" and "trans men are ugly hairy women."

They literally just threw whatever they thought could be most hurtful at the wall and then tried to pretend they were making some profound statement on modern homophobia

Schroedinger's gender theory strikes again: you are both and neither male and female, based on whatever hurts you more in the moment, and that can change literally second by second.

Is the trans man an ugly hairy woman or an ultra-feminine woman? Does the trans man have a penis or not? Is the trans man casually rejected by others or does literally everyone else join in rejecting the tragic gay man character instead? The answer to all of these is yes, whatever in the moment does the most heavy lifting to make the point that the artist doesn't like trans men and considers them outsiders.

So while rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender recently, I noticed a trend

A number of spirits we see have an animal form, specifically animals we recognize as "normal" for us. For example:

- Wan Shi Tong is an owl and his knowledge seekers are foxes

- Tui and La are koi fish

- Hei Bai is a panda

-The guardian of the mother of faces is a wolf (The Search)

Heck there's even the talking Baboon spirit and the monkey missing its face that we see in the Spirit World at the end of Season 1.

Basically every time we've seen a "normal" animal, they've been a spirit.

My point? I argue that Bosco is a spirit bear that's chilling and living the good life in the mortal world just because he can.

Don't forget Miyuki!
