We aren’t paying for wars or big business bailouts when we pay our taxes. We’re paying for local infrastructure projects (which are a fucking joke anymore) educational support, and all the other ACTUALLY USEFUL shit we vote for our money to go for. As it stands, we are getting robbed. Free Stuff my ass.
It is a time to listen to native folx rn, partly as this isn’t being widely broadcast, because their voices are being shut down and shouted out, but also because the very laws that were agreed in term of what post colonial America decided was reasonable to place, is being violated. For capitalism and racism. Listen and support southern natives right now, and don’t think the American gov won’t trample on human rights and sacred places the minute it’s inconvenient for them not to.

Oklahoma City Black Lives Matter protestors are being charged with domestic terrorism for incidents such as property damage to a police vehicle and smacking a window (that did not even break) source 1 source 2
OKC DA David Prater said in a statement “This is not Seattle. We’re not putting up with this lawlessness here,” and plans to use these charges to deter further protestors from “going too far” in future protests.
“Isaiah Lewis is dead, forever 17 – no charges and no justice. Derrick Scott is dead — no charges and no justice. Olain Jefferson is dead — no charges and no justice — while an innocent Blackman, Mr. Julius Jones, still sits on death row, and Mr. Prater won’t release the State’s file of the case,” this statement from Black Lives Matter OKC states. Isaiah Lewis was a seventeen-year-old Edmond resident who was shot and killed by police in 2019. Derrick Scott was heard on police body-cam footage saying “I can’t breathe,” while he was murdered by police in 2019. Olain Jefferson was being detained at the Oklahoma County Jail when he died of an unspecified “medical event.” Julius Jones is a Black man currently being held on death row in Oklahoma for a crime he did not commit.
Black Lives Matter protestors as young as 18 are being held on bonds for hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you are able, please consider donating to Black Lives Matter OKC to contribute to their bond funds and defense teams. If you can’t donate, please signal boost, because national news are largely ignoring this situation and the injustices being faced in Oklahoma.

Employers, banks and other financial institutions already send detailed information to the IRS. The government knows how much you owe in tax. If they wanted to they could send you a tax bill and a form you could fill in to claim back taxable expenses (like travelling for work purposes.) It’s called Return Free Filing And is used in the majority of countries in the world. The American tax system has been deliberately set up this way so people will engage accountants, tax services, and tax software like TurboTax, because those same companies spent a lot of money lobbying Congress to keep the tax system complicated so they can make more money when you hire their services. They’re basically using the money you’re paying them to make sure congress doesn’t make your taxes easier.
