the phrase “curiosity killed the cat” is actually not the full phrase it actually is “curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back” so don’t let anyone tell you not to be a curious little baby okay go and be interested in the world uwu

Let’s not forget that “Jack of all trades, master of none” ends with “But better than a master of one.”

It means that being equally good/average at everything is much better than being perfect at one thing and sucking at everything else. So don’t worry if you’re not perfect at something you do! Being okay is better!

These made me feel better

Also, “great minds think alike” ends with “but fools rarely differ”

It goes to show that conformity isn’t always a good thing. And that just because more than one person has the same idea, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good idea.

what the fuck why haven’t i heard the full version to any of these

“Birds of a feather flock together” ends with “until the cat comes.”

It’s actually a warning about fair-weather friends, not an assessment of how complementary people are.

I’ve always felt like these were cut down on purpose.

I really like these phrases and plan on spreading this knowledge.

The early bird catches the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I want to make designs out of these.

Funny how all the half-finished ones encourage uniformity and upholding the status-quo, while the complete proverbs encourage like…living exciting, eclectic lives driven by choice and personal passion.

Melisandre: Stannis will defeat the Long Night! Melisandre: No Jon Snow! Melisandre: Or Daenerys! Melisandre: PERHAPS BOTH??? Melisandre, after bumping into Arya mid fight: Oh. Blue eyes. She’ll shut blue eyes. Son of a BITCH, I HATE prophesies, dammit. Imma die right after this, fuck.

I just want to add to all those that questioned Dany’s support in the War for the Dawn -

Daenerys Targaryen suffered the greatest loss in this episode:

She lost Jorah, her closest friend, the one that had been there since the very beginning and the one she’s always trusted the most.

She lost the Dothraki, the people and culture amongst which she’d first found her strength and had been the first to follow her - and then followed her again when she proved worthy.

She lost a great number of Unsullied, her first army and the first slaves she’d freed from their chains.

She was forced to fight Viserion, her own son, who then died for the second time and the last.

I have a lot of issues with this episode but there’s like zero doubt that Daenerys Targaryen sacrificed the most for this war and she deserves to be called one of its heroes.

so the conclusion to the long night that’s been hyped up for years and the white walkers whose mission has been picked apart in a thousand different theories and the climax of jon and bran’s narrative arcs regarding the end of the world and all the prophecies associated with it -

- was the literal embodiment of human memory chilling by a tree and doing fuck all until his sister prison-shanked the greatest existential threat in 8000 years in a last-minute slow-mo.

the war for the dawn? more like a northern scuffle with its frozen neighbours.

cersei didn’t need to send her troops. the rest of the north didn’t need to send their men. the vale army was hardly seen. literally the entire realm save for some northern houses, the freefolk, the unsullied and the dothraki ignored this threat and carried on with their lives with absolutely no impact.

they’ve been rewarded for ignoring jon’s call and will distantly hear about some ice zombies that vanished after a few hours of fighting.

everything after this point regarding this storyline will be pure exposition, of bran robotically filling in the plot holes, which is poor storytelling.

euron’s mission to fuck cersei lasted longer than the white walker attack on westeros.

lord of the rings is an example of earning a hard-earned victory with the arena of war spanning across the land. their war brought together all races, from all walks of life, for one final stand - and it was satisfying.

this was not.
