mother: i love you?? are you saying i love you???tony come quick get the camera
baby: i-i- i dont understand why the new up-and-coming meme is a baby saying its first words, because its not really funny per say and it defies the very structure and iota of what a tumblr meme is; a short, chuckleworthy sentence such as ''..................slime man'', ''free him'' or ''i came out tonight to have a good time and i am honestly feeling so attacked right now'' that can be put after an image post or text post alike. i am wholeheartedly baffled by this whole new meme era and i hope soon that we return to the conventional tumblr meme styles.

One day she would not get aggravated over such simple words from the Dragon Slayer. Why she even let him under her skin was beyond her. She was not going to push her luck with challenging him, last time she did that it did not end very well – more for Gajeel, but tensions with him was the last thing she wanted. It was not like this was going to turn into a repeat of the exams, right? If it did she would have to wonder about Fairy Tail’s ability to find evil deeds. This was supposed to just be a retrieval job, hopefully it would not turn into one like what Natsu’s team had done, when Lucy came back with Virgo.

Just thinking about things getting that intense made her skin crawl. She did not like taking intense jobs, if only because she was afraid she would not be able to complete them. Another way she could be down on herself, but she did not dare say it out loud, otherwise she knew that people in the guild would try and challenge her with such a claim. And Gajeel might dangle and carry her to scary places. It was not too far fetched to think that, considering that he was big enough to do the former, and intimidating to the point she would feel inclined to follow after him – even if he would not hurt her.

Shaking her head, she knew she had to get a grip. She was getting ahead of herself and thinking the worst. A small put stayed present on her face for a moment longer before Gajeel spoke again. “According to the mission statement, a bunch of antiques. A candelabra, some clock, and some china… Apparently it’s pretty valuable, to be stolen in the first place, right?” especially if the ‘bandits’ were still there guarding them. It would make things interesting for Gajeel once they ran into them.

"Sounds like a bunch of junk to me. Ah whatever, if it's worth them stealing it, then I guess we'll just have to steal it back from them, right?"

That wasn't quite what the mission meant by 'retrieval', but then again, it would still count, so long as they got the goods back. Even if it didn't sound valuable to him, Levy seemed as though she knew what she was talking about, so it must be. As such, he wondered if whoever stole it would be smart enough to at least guard it thereafter. No sense in stealing something if you're just gonna leave it open for anyone else to take. With this kind of thinking, his nerves began to shiver with excitement at the thought of having a bit of fun with the thieves. So long as he didn't go too far and get carried away with it, it wouldn't cause any harm, should it?

Of course, there was one catch. Levy would be there. He was all for showing off, but with the history the two of them had -- especially the way they met -- it wouldn't be in his wisest decisions to seriously harm anyone, regardless of their own criminal status. He was brash, but still smart enough to know that it could potentially trigger some fear from her, and the last thing he wanted to do was cause her to be afraid of him again. He was in the same guild now. She was his ally. His friend, or at least, he was beginning to hope as much.

    Friend.

That words sunk in a little bit each second, resonating in his mind enough to shift the darker, more violent thoughts of roughing up the thieves. He was always a bit of a loner, so he wasn't entirely sure how he felt about it, but... somehow, it felt right. Right enough that his lips had curled up into a smile without him even noticing it.

"T`ch. Thanks for the offer, but nah. I got a perfectly good one right here."

Taking it literally. Not quite what she probably meant by the gesture, but while he might be part of the same guild, that didn't mean he wanted assistance or charity from anyone else. He felt as though he was "better" than that. And someone like Erza, an S-class mage, wasn't someone he wanted looking down on him, even were it in a respectful manner. He wanted her to look at him as an equal. So the offer would be refused, and he'd boast arrogantly about relying on his own strengths.

62) What's your favorite animal?

"T`ch, really? 's'gotta be my cat. Pantherlily's the best animal you could ask for, don't let anyone else tell ya' otherwise."

// For me, it'd be a fox. I'm wholly obsessed with red foxes.
