She’s sooooooooooooo desperate to do damage control on how she’s treated her teammates. Whether she called them fat, defended usag before she defended her teammates that were sexually abused, saying Vanessa Atler was lying about Valeri’s emotionally abusive training methods that pushed her to developing an eating disorder, using someone’s trauma to to promote her app, etc etc like I could go on for days.
And listen, I would be 100% okay and happy if she genuinely felt sorry and changed her ways (look at how I used to feel about aly and I LOVE HER SO MUCH NOW) but anyway I think she just wants to improve her image. Why else would she block anyone who has ever criticized her for doing any of the things I just listed above? Because she’s not actually sorry, she’s just sorry we all called her out on her bullshit and tainted her perfect princess image 💅🏼

I love that every six or so months I still get these. Five or six years later.1) Don’t know. There were enough catfish around here circa late 2012 to supply the TV show forever. 2) 98% sure yes. 3) it wasn’t. Her real name was far more generic and less interesting. 4) My favorite story was they were someone from Mac Miller’s crew. I’d like to pretend that’s the truth. Just for the giggles.

You know what's funny? How Aly went from a joke to a hero. All of us underestimated her to say the least. She was a brat growing up and until after London. She was childish, a horrible public speaker, her fashion sense was questionable (to say the least), and a lot of people were convinced she was a huge dyke. We laughed at her absurd belief that she'd make it to Rio and at her love of burritos. Then she made it to Rio, was a star, was in a straight relationship, and kept quietly busy.

Tbh I find it disappointing that one of the best American gymnasts of all time is a fame-obsessed instagram model. Like she’s free to do whatever she pleases and I hope she’s happy and I know it’s not right for me to judge her life choices but I just thought she was better than that frankly.
Better than what? Being proud of her body? What should she be doing? Shitty D-List dance competitions? Showing up at county fairs? Making cringey YouTube videos? Posting advertisements every fifteen minutes on social media? Reposting pics from IG accounts dedicated to five year olds that mommy runs? Chasing her wannabe pro athlete significant other around the country? I guess it would have been cool if she posed for SI or did the ESPN body issue instead right? Or did a bad commercial about her taco popping.
You didn't see more in that video than we haven't seen of god knows how many other gymnasts.
