Remember kids: The protest, regardless how violent and destructive it may be, even if it's an outright riot, was always deemed as peaceful alternative, the alternative that won't get you in jail. TLDR: 5th Circuit Court ruled in Mckesson v Doe that protest organizers could be held liable for acts committed by protestors. The Supreme Court refused to hear the case, and the verdict stands.

It doesn't per se abolish the right to mass protest, but it produces a chilling effect which may make organized protests less likely. Furthermore, by punishing organizers for the actions of protestors, it incentivizes bad actors to infiltrate otherwise peaceful protests.

It was twenty years earlier than I ever expected to.

To celebrate/comemorate the date, I'm sitting down to write out everything I remember as I remember it. No checking all the pictures I took or all the times I've written about this before. I'm not going to turn to my husband (of twenty years, how the f'ing hell) to remember a detail for me.

This is not a 100% accurate recounting of that first wild weekend in San Francisco. But it -is- a 100% accurate recounting of how I remember it today, twenty years after the fact.

I think it’s incredibly fucked how capitalism discourages learning for learning’s sake. People will have interests they’ve spent years researching then say it’s “useless knowledge” bc it didn’t go towards a college degree and isn’t part of their job. Learning is never useless! Your brain is growing and developing throughout your whole life! People would never have epiphanies or sudden lightening strikes of creativity if they weren’t learning new things! That goes double for topics like science, politics, and history, which inform your understanding of the world you live in!

then mom finished telling me this and looked off for a moment. “my god,” she said. “she was flirting with me. fuck. goddamn it.” 

I have a similar experience with a friend who came at my place once and she started complaining it was too hot (it was summer but I had a beast, state-of-the-art level air conditioner blowing right on our heads and my apartment was very small), so just like that she took off her blouse and bra and she was sitting there like it’s the most natural thing but I also sensed an anticipation in her and I wondered if she wanted me to compliment her on her boobs, like, from an objective friendly perspective. And then she asked me, “don’t you want to get yours off too?” and I was like “nah…I’m okay”. So we were just sitting across each other, her boobs and all, and I was trying to maintain a normal conversation. Then after a while I stood up to do something (mostly an excuse to just, put some distance between us I guess) and she put her blouse back on (without the bra). 

At the time I thought it was just her being weird (she kinda was in general) and it took me at least three years to first consider there might have been more than that. Even today, I am still not sure because we were friends for many years and I didn’t really interpret her behaviour towards me as romantic (although at some points she acted a bit like a fan - no idea why - I had not done anything special - her way of falling for guys was a bit like that though) but then I remember once she suggested we kissed in the WC in a bar (I said no)…

but I am still not sure, very honestly.

Dominate the Battlefield: Intel Battlemage GPUs Revealed

Intel Arc GPU

After releasing its first-generation Arc Alchemist GPUs in 2022, Intel now seems to be on a two-year cadence, as seen by the appearance of the Battlemage in a shipping manifest. This suggests that Battlemage GPUs are being supplied to Intel’s partners for testing, as it’s the first time they’ve seen any proof of them existing in the real world. Intel is probably getting ready for a launch later this year given the timing of this.

Two Battlemage GPUs are being shipped by Intel to its partners, per a recently discovered shipment manifest that was published on X. They rarely get to cover Intel’s developments with its next-generation graphics cards, but they frequently cover Nvidia’s, as they did recently with the GeForce RTX 50-series graphics processors, which should appear on their list of the best graphics cards based on industry leaks.

This generation, Nvidia seems to be leading the laptop discrete GPU market, but Battlemage, with Intel’s ties to OEMs and PC manufacturers, might give the green team some serious competition in the next round.
