so anyway hi im still alive

i figured i should say SOMETHING just in case some of my old mutuals still hang around these parts. im alive! i guess i’ll do a little life update before i slip back into the void im doing ok! i would tell u where to follow me online for more consistent activity IF there were anywhere else to find me. tbh im just not online these days. it’s not bc im too busy or above it in some weird superiority complex way or in the middle of a purposeful social media cleanse or anything. idk im not feeling it. in general lmao & lol. im just trying to live laugh love in a die cry hate world rn. on paper life is going great! obvi my mental health has been and still is what some might call “a concern” but i feel so much more at peace. the good outweighs the bad for once in my life by QUITE the margin. im in love. i have a cat who wants to cuddle all day. i have evolved into the next phase of my career. im making music w friends. im picking up hobbies. i’m in a group that advocates for safety within its industry. i’ve been traveling alone and gaining independence. ive come to terms w so much and deconstructed a lot of internalized shit and hope to keep the party going. i discovered thru my career that im actually pretty smart??? my intelligence is just hyper-specific. life is astronomically better than it was just 2 years ago! i cant even begin to tell you how much better it is compared to a decade ago. feel free to shoot me a message! can’t promise i’ll respond promptly tho

holocaust memorial day is coming up and this is only a reminder that if there's one thing western countries will do, is that they will watch hundreds and millions of people die will not intervene and then decades later say that this is "a horrific event" and "to remember the holocaust is a way to never repeat it". how about the people in Gaza? over 25,000 people have died due to Israel's constant bombing and attacks and not one western country has intervened. western media has skewed the narrative, often calling Gaza as hamas-run or they'll mention the fact that girls and women have no source of hygiene products but won't say why that's happened, (because Israel has banned any and all medical supplies coming into the Gaza strip (which is a WAR CRIME btw)) it's sickening how ironic it all is, when they say they'll never forget the holocaust when one is quite literally unfolded under they're eyes

Very sad to hear Motaz apologize for choosing safety and evacuating as if he owes the world anything.

If anything the world owes him an apology. He kept on going despite his mental health decreasing day by day.

May he live a long and happy life, so he can tell his story to future generations.

Hello Everyone!

Today is the first day of the weeklong strike for a ceasefire in Gaza.

I have realized that I do not think the message has spread far, at least on this website. This might be due to the lack of internet in Gaza, it has been down for days. Not much can be said by the citizens there, it's like some people forgot about them. I encourage all of you to share this post, or make your own, letting everyone know about this strike. This is something that should transcend the aesthetic of your blog. My blog was a gimmick blog, but for this week, it is a blog for spreading information and awareness.

Bisan Odwa (@wizard_bisan1 on instagram) has called for this strike. She is a journalist from Gaza, who has been experiencing this horrid violence for 15 weeks. 107 days. 2568 hours.

These were the images she posted, calling for this strike:

Reblog this, share this. Do not stop until every supporter of Gaza knows what we must do this week.

Free Palestine, Free Gaza, Ceasefire now!

frankly, the people whose kneejerk reaction to bisan asking for a global strike form the 21st-28th is to say that it takes years to organize a general strike are really unhelpful! no one is saying otherwise, but palestine will be a smoking crater if we all wait for years to do anything - bisan is asking us to do something now. Like are we only supposed to do something if we can do it perfectly??? At some point it’s a valid critique about the work that goes into social movement, and at another point I feel like some people are just trying to absolve themselves from not putting any effort into observing a week of economic inaction.

like idk! I get it, okay! People have bills to pay that don’t magically go away for a strike, we don’t have nearly enough social infrastructure in place to support people to fully stop going to work for a week. But fuck, dude! Stop immediately responding in such a defeatist way! Cut out unnecessary purchases! Try to shop local! Put more effort into promoting Palestinian voices online! Attend a protest, call a local rep, do something!

I am once again at a loss for words. From @/ democracynow [@/ JoshuaPHill on X. 12/22/23.] [Image description: "Satellite imagery shows Israel's razing of Gaza agricultural land." A 'before' picture shows an aerial picture of lush green fields and areas of healthy crops, as well as the location of a greenhouse. An 'after,' photo shows an aerial view of a completely desolate land -there are no crops, no greenhouse, and no greenery.]

They killed the olive trees. They killed the little children. They killed the unborn. They killed the father. They killed the mother. They killed the journalist. They killed the journalists entire family. They killed all the aunts and uncles. They killed the doctors. They killed the soul of his soul. They killed the groom. They killed the bride. They killed the cats. They killed the elderly people older than their apartheid state. They killed the thousands of memories painted on the walls. They killed 30,000+ Palestinians that we will never get back. [@/ missfalsteenia on X. 01/07/24.]

Important for people who are still stuck accusing people of antisemitism when they say genocide is actually not right.

names not numbers

The Palestinian Ministry of Health released a report on Thursday, including the names of more than seven thousand Palestinians who were martyred in the Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip.

Red color highlights 0-4 years old age group

Green color highlights age group 5-17

White color highlights the age group between 18 and 59 years old

Gray color highlights the age group over 60

These are not just names, but people killed in the midst of a brutal war. Remember their names.

[i've never doubted that palestine will live.

the US dropped more than 7.5 million tons of bombs on vietnam, laos and cambodia from 1965-75. they destroyed our land, used agent orange, slaughtered villages, separated families, the list goes on.

but we're. still. here.

indigenous people are still here. black people are still here. colonized people are resilient. even if you kill our people, ban our languages, destroy our homes, heritage sites and artifacts, we will always find a way to keep our cultures alive and that has always been true

so much of the west and isntreal's tactics and actions are hauntingly familiar to me as a viet person. its a colonizer's rinse and repeat. and so that's how i know palestine will be free. we've seen this film before]
