[ Tbh I always played it as a combination of the way Cas understood human interactions (look at a kid/Cas’s entry level of social intelligence and put them in a situation where the world is going to pot and people are fucking like jackrabbits), a way to skirt off the feeling of uselessness he had in being powerless, and a way to encourage people to think of him as a stereotype (stoner and/or player are each eternally better than freak) rather than try to get to know and even love him too deeply.  That’s the super bare-bones description, as my headcanons/backstory for this character are literally exhaustive, but maybe it can help with your brainstorming somewhat?

Also, some username ideas—  colorbliinded/colourbliinded are both seemingly open (recalling that your inspo was from the 'want the colors back’ headcanon?), and I can help you brainstorm more later tonight if you’d like more variety.  ]
