R. Buckminster Fuller A Dymaxion Home, project Elevation, axonometric, and plan Architectural Drawing Drawing date: c. 1930 Project date: c. 1930 Unbuilt Fuller's 1927-29 Dymaxion House project inspired his Wichita House, Wichita, Kansas, of 1945-46 (212.1978 and 213.1978). The Wichita House was the only Dymaxion-type house built. "R. Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion House was inspired by a desire to create widely available low cost housing. Fuller believed that by adopting the efficient and cost-effective assembly-line production methods used for the automobile he could produce a home at the same price as a car. The unusual hexagonal-shaped house was clad with double-panel vacuum-glazed walls and was fully air-conditioned. Its central aluminum core housed all mechanical equipment and provided the support structure for the roof and floor. Fuller's goal, 'maximum gain of advantage from minimal energy input,' was never realized, but his concept introduced a radical new way of living to the general public. Despite numerous early orders, only one modified postwar version of the house was ever built." - Bevin Cline and Tina di Carlo in "The Changing of the Avant-Garde: Visionary Architectural Drawings from the Howard Gilman Collection" (New York: The Museum of Modern Art, 2002).
one of the united states department of energy’s proposed pictographs designed to warn of radioactive waste hazards in a manner unspecific to any language. the scream. graphic symbols of the human face expressing horror and terror. that’s right. this bad baby boy right here. so sexy. and designed after the iconic and beautiful and wonderful and sexy edvard munch piece the scream. she’s so. i’m obsessed. and you should be too.

fyi that rough cut right in the middle of a “same as it ever was” isn’t my doing, that’s in the actual mix, somebody apparently needed to stitch that last bit together right in the middle of a word

my friend and colleague @ advadnoun (one of the people who basically invented modern image synthesis by discovering clip + vqgan, you know, "secret horses") has released a very cool new project that is an ai that you cannot prompt with text. instead, you can only prompt it by saying that you like, don't like, or are neutral towards the image it produces for you, and that slowly tweaks it towards an area of latent space that you like. here's some of the cool output i've gotten from it.
unironically one of the funniest things i think ive ever seen on this fucking website and yes im going to reblog this like every other day
