Howdy good buddies, I am posting this video to Tumblr because after perusing some reviews of the Wingate by Wyndham Atlanta Galleria hotel (one of the AWA overflow hotels) I am finding that there are many who have had the same experience.
too long didn’t watch: there is a housekeeper stealing from the rooms and if you call the hotel to tell them, they’ll blow you off and say “Our staff aren’t thieves” so the problem is deliberately not getting solved.
Turns out, we are not the only people who have had this experience. Obviously, because theft is a habit, never a freak occurrence. There’s no such thing as a one-time thief.
This video was made very early in my process so to give you an update, the GM would not honor a compensation of any form, neither the hotel nor corporate has so much as apologized. They refuse to acknowledge the incident. I was nice on the phone during every exchange, but I wrote a not-nice letter to corporate :^]
Sadly this sort of thing happens at a lot, it happened to a girl at Katsucon who literally caught the housekeeper ON CAMERA stealing her belongings and even with that photographic evidence the hotel and the police are both trying to give her the runaround.
Avoid this hotel if you can, but of course it’s a con hotel so if you can’t, keep your valuables on your person or locked up. I bought a padlock for my camera equipment after this incident.

All set! Both of these cosplays do not have many layers so I deserve literally every cold-weather-related thing that happens to me over the weekend.
And HeroesCon Friday is officially covered! May or may not take him to Ichi, we’ll see how cold it gets!
