“Mess Me Up” is the gut punch of ICFYFM. It’s a plea to not let the pain linger, set to the tune of a slow dance. So much of a codependent relationship is the feeling of unfulfillment. Here I’m begging to not let it go on longer than it needs to. All the questioning, the long days and nights spent wondering.. save me the trouble. What I love is it sounds like the slow dance at a prom, as if it’s one last dance before we end it all.
