I am only consistent in inconsistency. I like things other than Trigun, I swear. I have an age (old enough) and a gender (she/her is fine) but I'm liable to forget about both.

Mxtx love interests and their relationships with captivity are fascinating and all, but I’d rather just focus on how funny Hua Cheng’s is in particular.

We have Luo Binghe‘s creepy replica bamboo hut and the tragic horror of watching him succumb to his worst impulses and try destroying the world to trap Shen Qingqiu by his side.

We have Lan Wangji warring internally with himself for years over his smothering need to hide Wei Wuxian from the world and save him from himself.

And then there’s Hua Cheng

Professional Gege Catch and Release Wildlife Expert Hua Cheng.

Imagine waiting for the coast guard or whatever to show up and instead a replica of 18th century merchant ship pulls up and tows you to the coast.

pov: you’ve been transported to the 17th century

I'm crying. Here's a photo of a sailor from the Götheborg watching over the little sailboat in tow:

From the story:

We repeatedly emphasized that we were aboard a small 8-meter sailboat, but the response was the same each time: "We are a 50-meter three-masted sailboat, and we offer our assistance in towing you to Paimpol." We were perplexed by the size difference between our two boats, as we feared being towed by a boat that was too large and at too fast a speed that could damage our boat. The arrival of the Götheborg on the scene was rapid and surprising, as we did not expect to see a merchant ship from the East India Company of the XVIII century. This moment was very strange, and we wondered if we were dreaming. Where were we? What time period was it? The Götheborg approached very close to us to throw the line and pass a large rope. The mooring went well, and our destinies were linked for very long hours, during which we shared the same radio frequency to communicate with each other. The crew of the Götheborg showed great professionalism and kindness towards us. They adapted their speed to the size of our boat and the weather conditions. We felt accompanied by very professional sailors. Every hour, the officer on duty of the Götheborg called us to ensure everything was going well.[...] This adventure, very real, was an incredible experience for us. We were extremely lucky to cross paths with the Götheborg by chance and especially to meet such a caring crew. Dear commander and crew of the Götheborg, your kindness, and generosity have shown that your ship is much more than just a boat. It embodies the noblest values of the sea, and we are honored to have had the chance to cross your path and benefit from your help.

"Our destinies were linked for very long hours" is just knocking me out.

so if the reason that hua cheng could show xie lian the 'footage' of yin yu's downfall was because it was what black water observed under cover in the heavens, that means he xuan knew yin yu as a god before he was banished ...

i like to imagine he xuan contacting hua cheng right after the banishment to please help out his favourite sad little guy

and then there is the piece of the yin yu fan cam hua&xuan have from yin yu's mortal life that black water couldn't have gotten from observing himself ... there had to have been trust & intimacy of some kind between yin yu and he xuan (or hua cheng or both) for him to have that ...

also fun to imagine the scolding yin yu gave he xuan and hua cheng when he finds out they're going around screening a catalogue of his greatest humiliations to impress hua cheng's new sweetheart

Just a reminder that Vash is fucking built because we fandom have a tendency to forget that and make him out to be really lanky (i love lanky vash btw)

It's the clothing that makes him look trim. You'd bump into him at the market on accident and fall on your ass because the man is built like a brick wall. Also, fanartists who draw him coat-less, draw more of his scars you cowards!

Honestly it really is the coat and *Gains Insight* oh god

I just realized, the fucking Belts.

He’s got so many belts that give him the illusion of being lanky and tall as opposed to towering and tanky.

But he’s also *binding himself*

Restraining himself, so to speak. Hiding part of himself. This makes so much more sense now.

Friends may I present the Trigun fandom, where we can make absolutely everything traumatically depressing. This destroyed me thanks so very much.

He is absolutely binding himself

Not to mention how pressure can be used to alleviate anxiety/simulate the pressure of human touch my poor touch starved baby oh god

Every stabbing in this book is committed with a melon knife. Every one.

There have been so many stabbings. And melon Knives.

Upon rereading (what, other peolle dont read a book and then immediately reread the book?) I realise I have erred.

All the stabbings have been conducted with melon Knives, except for the one that was conducted with a boning knife.
