Ren had his arms full of blue hair and pale flesh before he had even fully opened his eyes. He rubbed at his spine with a sharp nail. Until his peace was ruined by Sly’s words.  "Sly—please. I did not fuck you.” He cringed at the wording, fucking implied a disregard for the other person. “We had sex, and I merely…ah, performed to your demands. You make it sound as if I was intentionally trying to harm you.”

Normally I like to keep out of the fray when it comes to fandom politics, however I feel I need to somewhat toss a reminder out:

You can be a fan of a character and recognize that they are problematic and have done terrible, inexcusable things.

This does NOT make you an apologist.

This does NOT make you a bad person.

Posts like the above in the tags do nothing but place undeserved guilt onto fans and make them feel isolated and unwanted in the community. If you dislike a character that’s fine, if you want to talk about why you dislike said character on your blog that’s fine too. It’s your blog after all.

However please be respectful and refrain from tagging character hate in the main tags for a fandom.

The above is true HOWEVER there are plenty of people who will literally say “It’s ok because he found Jesus” or “he didn’t do anything wrong” or “he’s just been through some shit.” I recognize that not all Mink fans are like this but there’s enough for it to be a problem.

What Crumpet is saying is don't tag your hate. It doesn't matter if you've seen an apologist once. Or twice. Or 1,000 times. Don't tag your hate. Because for every apologist that sees it there's 20 who aren't apologists who feel alienated because they're made out to be rape apologists.

Don't tag it because it's not going to make the apologists suddenly change their ways. It does literally zero good for the community. It just makes fans who realize he's problematic feel like shit.

PSA Ren does not hate Sly/Desire and is not angry at him for 'ruining' or 'hurting' Reason he says himself that he is there to balance them. Which implies a need for Desire/Sly to exist and be healthy. It's just having amnesia made him forget about the split consciousness so he thinks this is something trying to literally hurt Aoba since there's no way to properly communicate with Desire.

And when he realizes who that is he displays no hate or aggravation at Sly. He is mad at himself for further disrupting Aoba's balance and doesn't object to Aoba accepting Desire.
