I remember Brennan saying “laws are just structured threats made by the ruling socioeconomic class” during an episode of D20 and we truly just had to stan immediately

i think i would rather encounter multiple women who take astrology too seriously over even one guy who genuinely believes in sigma/alpha/beta male bullshit

women who take astrology too seriously:  hey bestie i made u a star chart

men who believe the s/a/b male bullshit:  women should be enslaved

Well someone displeased the sky gods didn’t they

My first thought was someone pleased the sky gods, because this is a SHOW.

That’s the problem with gods; their pleasure and their wrath often look the same.

why is this fire quote from a tumblr post

Because tumblr is the real world equivalent of infinite monkeys using typewriters eventually producing Shakespeare.

Draining and paving wetlands is just about one of the worst ideas ever. When water can disperse along a winding waterway into soft soil it slows it's movement way down. Slow water deposits sediment instead of eroding it. Plants can grow in it that clean the water and trap more sediment. That increased soil absorbs and slows extra water when there's a larger rain than usual and buffers the effects of even torrential storms.

Fast, straight waterways remove soil, and don't give water a chance to soak in. Often insult is added to injury by paving and armoring the banks (ostensibly to reduce erosion) removing any possibility of absorbing and slowing extra water. Any increase in precipitation upstream means a higher water level. A storm means catastrophic flooding.

Draining wetlands doesn't make more "usable" land, it sets the stage for tragedies.

Every single day for about 4 weeks this woman has been coming into our shop, handing out religious pamphlets, and attempting to preach. We kick her out very quickly, she's banned from the store in site. On Monday it got to the point where the owner, our manager and I were standing outside because we know she comes everyday at 2:45. We dont wanna call the police because acab, they might hurt this woman, so we decide to make her uncomfortable. I was forced to endure catholic education most of my life so i know how to debate with receipts. My manager is agnostic and loves to argue. And the owner is a practicing witch. It took maybe 20 minutes for this lady to freak out and decide to leave us alone. She asked us what our relationship with god was and i said "Sky Daddy and I like to keep our relationship private" which she hated lmao. My manager said "Is there one? I don't know" and the owner said "God? Which one? I talk to many of them"

It's been a few days we haven't seen her since. Good riddance lol if you've been kicked out of a place of business more than 10 damn times, take a minute to evaluate your behavior

I’m glad romance isn’t dead. At least, not if you’re a fuzzy herbivorous lagomorph.

All this site ever talks about are Italian Grandmas, where’s the appreciation for my Italian Found Grandpas?

I got two neighbours in their 70s and 80s respectively and they’ve both taken a wild interest in my orchard because they both used to plant stuff and now they’re living vicariously through mine, checking on progress, helping out, trying to teach me stuff except most of the time they have wildly different opinions on how to spot bastard branches on tomato plants and I’m living for the drama

We were plowing the field today when one of them asked me why I didn’t have a boyfriend when I’m already 25 and I went “Men are trouble”, you know, like a lesbian, and he just stopped for a second, thought then dipped his hat. “Now, that is true” where else would I get this?

Update, Found Grandpas now planning my future marriage like an heist.

“You like fieldwork, you need to marry the son of a landowner. Lots of land, lots of cultivation. Done! You’re set for life!”

“But he must be dumb.”

“Oh yeah, dumb like a wood plank. So dumb you can do whatever you want.”

“And get the land.”

“And get the land!”

You know what? Bisexual farmer marries landowner himbo is the happy ending I deserve
