In October 2023, the state of Israel began a military campaign against the people of the already occupied Gaza Strip in Palestine. Especially when it has been charged with genocide explicitly by South Africa, a case that took place in the ICJ, thoroughly elucidating the crimes committed by the Israeli state, a charge agreed upon by several countries and genocide scholars alike.
The BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement has called for a complete boycott of Eurovision by broadcasters, artists and viewers and I ask that the BBC comply with this - abstain from broadcasting the Eurovision Song Contest and withdraw this years entry to the contest.

I know this just seems like a silly song contest (or you may not know what Eurovision is at all), but for some countries that value of Eurovision is in its soft power. Countries like Israel want to be on that stage because of the power of exerting their national identity and "right to exist".
In fact, this year Israel was almost forced to withdraw since they said they would insist on keeping political lyrics. Instead, Isaac Herzog, the President of Israel insisted that the broadcaster (KAN) make "necessary adjustments" so that Israel would be able to appear on stage in May. This is because he recognizes the power of Israel taking part in an international competition that is transmitted into over 100 million homes in May. This is also a competition where Palestinian flags will not be allowed in the audience, but the Israeli flag will be waved in an opening ceremony.
Some broadcasters are certainly more sympathetic than others - the nordic countries are the most important, and Iceland has not even decided if they will participate and they may withdraw in the next few days. This is just to say that forcing Israel out of the competition is not just about a song contest, but the ability for Israel to commit artwashing and use culture to convince people of its legitimacy. Russia and Belarus are no longer allowed to do this at Eurovision, and Israel should not be able to either.

My roommate and I are financially unstable while he does through a long, complicated diagnosis process that started as we stopped being homeless. I just interviewed for a job, we are starting to grow our own food. We currently need to cover our storage bill before we get a late fee, food, and one of his meds.
He also has a sleep study on Monday, which is going to be $500. No one expected them to work him in that soon, we aren't expecting to be able to cover it, but it desperately doesn't need to wait, so it's included in this goal. If Monday comes and we are nowhere near that goal, it'll be rescheduled, and I'll update accordingly.
