@likesplatterpaint NOT MANDATORY? Oh my god, I’M SO CONFUSED. ALL 4 YEAR OLDS ARE IN SCHOOL, and they even got rid of half day classes in most places so it’s actually full-time school for 4 year olds so their parents can actually have jobs?! and Preschool at my nieces school is just daycare for 3 year olds, I’m so lost T_T
@kaleighbytheway *shrug* they don’t call it preschool, they call it kindergarten. Age 6 was grade 1, with multiplication and everything :x So confused.

A new study finds strong evidence that delaying kindergarten by a year provides mental health benefits to children, allowing them to better self-regulate their attention and hyperactivity levels when they do start school.
The study, titled “The Gift of Time? School Starting Age and Mental Health” and published this week by the National Bureau of Economic Research, found that these benefits — which are obviously important to student achievement — persist at least until age 11. Stanford Graduate School of Education Prof. Thomas Dee, who co-authored the study with Hans Henrik Sievertsen of the Danish National Center for Social Research, was quoted in a Stanford release as saying:
“We found that delaying kindergarten for one year reduced inattention and hyperactivity by 73 percent for an average child at age 11 and it virtually eliminated the probability that an average child at that age would have an ‘abnormal,’ or higher-than-normal rating for the inattentive-hyperactive behavioral measure.”

Omg Liz, a few weeks ago I got an extra large pho, no meat plus 4 deep fried veggie spring rolls (you know the ones - the size of your hand!) PLUS I then went and got two shawarma wraps (one beef one chicken) with pickled EVERYTHING and extra EVERYTHING plus a shawarma poutine and then I continued to my mothers, where I sat and ate the pho, half the spring rolls, almost all the shawarma plus Korean style chicken and pork over rice that she had made me...(I would like to note: I didn't buy any of this food for myself, my family bought it all for me as I am a broke ass hoe and it was my birthday)

Within 20 minutes of the episode starting there is an extremely violent, graphic, bloody, loud rape scene. It comes out of nowhere, there is no build up to it, it just happens. It is not brief, it is very long and loud and the camera hides nothing. It’s extremely disturbing and could seriously affect your mental state.
PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WATCH IT IF YOU ARE SPECIFICALLY TRIGGERED BY SCENES OF RAPE OR EVEN DISTURBED BY SCENES OF RAPE.
It is beyond disturbing and it really comes absolutely out of nowhere.
IF YOU STILL WANT TO WATCH THE EPISODE BUT AVOID THE SCENE IT STARTS JUST AFTER 18:00 (18 minutes in) AND CONTINUES UNTIL 22:30 (22 minutes and 30 seconds in)

A job that'll probably be eliminated by robots in about 10-20 years. Didn't you kind of notice this trend by the way? All the outspoken tumblr heroes tend to be the kind of people whose private lives amount to jackshit?
